discouraged, disappointed and deflated.
i tried to do the new pvp and failed.
one alliance clearly had the advantage all 4 times i tried.
there no fun in getting to the objective and getting killed in seconds. no objectives completed.
i've read here of several folks who got everything done in a couple of hours. wtf?
4 days and i still got squat. ty for the let down.

Do you have other toons that belong to that alliance? Might not be not the toon you want to PvP on, but it will help with the Golden Pursuits.1 -

✭What tasks are missing if I may ask? The most tasks are "leechable" and pretty much the "kill player" task is "most difficult". But if you do all others, you can skip the killer-task.0 -

✭✭✭✭I mean I don't know if this is what happened, but if you just show up on your own to a battle you will probably go splat. I can't speak to every alliance at every time on every server, but usually there will be at least one big group and if you ask in zone chat they'll tell you where they're at. If they're asking for help to take a keep or defend a keep, show up! There are also frequently people forming PuG's in zone chat. Strength in numbers!
You might also try holding back from the actual battle a bit and setting up a ballista and firing into the enemy swarm. You don't need the killing blow, anyone you hit who dies will count as a kill.
I'm sorry if your alliance is doing so poorly or has such a low population that it's making this difficult - I guess all I say then is you could try changing alliances (since there are no builds in vengeance, you can use a non-pvp character or even a brand new character), or perhaps your alliance will be doing better at a different time or on the weekend when the general population is higher.Edited by valenwood_vegan on March 26, 2025 11:32PM2 -

✭✭✭✭✭I earned all of the rewards within a few hours on day 1, but haven't completed all of the activities yet. If you can join a zerg and join in on some large-scale fights, hopefully it won't take all week to get the rewards. Help capture keeps, help capture a town or two, help destroy enemy siege, help repair damaged keeps, help capture resources, help resurrect players, etc. You don't need to actually kill players, just hit as many as you can and let the zerg do the rest.
But I'm guessing you probably already know all of that, if you PvP on a regular basis, so my reply is more for anyone who isn't a regular PvP player.I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!0 -

✭✭✭✭✭There is a lot that is not included in the OP.
Many of those who got the all the activities done quickly were following a group. Cyrodiil is designed for group combat and it is much easier to run with a group rather than solo unless one knows how to work the solo playstyle they are attempting.
Also, stick closely to the leader in your group. Squirrels die fast.
Also, unless the population is capped, which is happening much of the time, there can be an imbalance between the alliances. There can also be an imbalance at a particular location which goes back to running with a group.

Is it tied to hits? Because I know I racked up a kill count, and I am positive I hadn't been hitting all that many players (though I did get the final blow on a few of them), I thought it was just being in proximity to the player being killed, though it makes more sense that it is tied to hits (there were a couple I noticed my kill count didn't go up, even though I was close by, thought I was just outside the range)
I will also say just find a stream of players heading some place and follow them, that is how I completed the golden pursuits, I set up a few siege weapons (but often had a hard time due to either terrain not being flat enough or there already being too many sieges already up) buy mostly just ran around doing heavy attacks, (there were so many people there, it was hard to figure out what was targetable, so I just relied on my heavy attack auto target to get them)0 -

✭✭✭✭✭On my 2nd account I got them done fairly quick and I don't usually PvP on that account. Was lucky to get through a keep door just as I died so I could be rezzed inside. The invading faction breached the main inside door and one side door but because of our numbers couldn't push in on the flags. Just spamming AoE on the breeches I got I'm guessing pretty close to 300 kills. Got the 150 really quick and stuck around for probably another hour until we eventually got the defensive tick.
Before they breached the doors I was dropping oil so got that one done quick. Repairs were also quick. Not sure I want that to become the standard fight but it was fun and getting the pursuits all finished was probably the easiest group to finish for me compared to all the others.
On my main account I got outside the keep and engaged in the battle more. That was also fun but again not sure I would want a steady diet of it.and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."1 -

✭✭It depends on when you are joining in. In any case, you still have all weekend to try again, and there should be more active players then.
Pro tip: don't solo it. This gamemode is all about grouping up, either with an organized group or with a full on zerg.Best Argonian NA and I will fight anyone for it

✭Certainly, the biggest zerg wins but there is some action happening all the time. At least, on NA PC the flow of who is the strongest seems to change and none of the factions is pushed to their home keeps all the time. I would suggest not to judge by the first impression but give it a second chance sometimes 3rd one.
This test has proven how great it is for new players and low cp in general. I took my lowbie toon and was fighting face to face against some exprerienced high cp toons. To be honest, I would suggest to make this a theme for future pvp changes. It could be disheartening for most to be overrun just due to the gap in progress into the game.A is for Atronach.

Just a suggestion, if this is really the case that another alliance is completely dominating you can always make a lvl 10 character on that alliance and go complete your golden objectives on that character - the campaign is not faction locked.
Also I think its more the case that people haven't really bothered theorycrafting that much for 1 week of gameplay. ✭literally all you need to do is follow a group. throw one light attack that registers your presence, then sit there and watch the AP roll in
even if you are 0 for 1000 , you'll do this achievement in about 30 mins
alternatively you can -
just sit inside a keep and seige a bit. works better if you are in a group for this though.. so...
put "LFG" in zone chat and get picked up by a random group, then leach off their xp - either by following or sitting in a keep
follow a zerg and sit at a distance light attacking or snipebowing. you can sit 30 m or so away and then just passively run. as long as you get a hit in and its one of the last few hits, you should get the kill registered. (im unclear of the rules, is it one of the last 5 hits?)
theres really no reason even the squishiest of pve players cant get this one.
and even if you DONT do it, the reward is only 240k AP anyway - most pvpers have got millions in the bank because theres literally nothing to spend it on. (once youve got the motifs) - but 240k AP can be achieved in a very short time in pvp anyway - so youre not really missing out.
