Having collected a pile of over 111K 'Seals of Endeavor' now...

Greetings.

As of today I've got over 111K Seals of Endeavor (111,210 to be precise).

b4o5qvbeq749.jpg

So... what's wrong with me? ;)

I really like collecting the stuff and never spending it.
Also I might have missed some days inbetween... I'm not sure.

Playing more or less sice the beta-version of ESO in early 2014 came out, I really find collecting the above mentioned Seals quite satisfiying.

I think there should be an Achievement for collecting the Seals of Endeavor, because buying houses will grant you one, e.g..

Thanks for reading and have a ton of fun playing ESO!

I’m curious about something. Given that these are used to purchase content, what’s the goal in accumulating them indefinitely? Is it just the satisfaction of collecting for its own sake, or is there a long-term plan to eventually spend them? I totally get the appeal of stockpiling resources—there’s something inherently rewarding about watching numbers go up—but I wonder if the system is really designed to make hoarding them feel meaningful.

It’s an interesting approach, though! Most people seem to use them as soon as they have enough for a high-value item, but I guess there’s something to be said for the discipline of restraint. Maybe an achievement for Seals hoarding would be fitting after all.

Congrats to OP, that is an impressive stash of endeavors.

To answer @sans-culottes question, speaking for myself, I only spend them if there's something I really like available, otherwise they just sit there, so that could be one reason. I can't speak for OP's reason though.

    Hello.

    Very interesting questions.

In my case I'd say there has been a development over the time:

First I wanted to spend the Seals, but there was nothing worth to me spending them on.
Then I just collected the Seals - and that's the whole story until now.

Simply put: Nowadays I just like to collect the Seals.

An Achievement would be VERY nice, but in the end I just go on trying to collect more Seals...
Because I like it somehow (maybe a bit close to an addiction?) - and that's a reason why I still play the game, even if it's (very) frustrating in some aspects. I love certain features of the game that keep me holding on to it for over eleven years until now.

But I'd totally spend the Seals of Endeavors if there were a future house having 10,000 spaces for furniture that could be bought for -let's say- 100K Seals of Endeavor. I'd gladly spend the Seals for that... housing in this game is my true endgame content, after all.

...but this is not how the game works (at the moment) and it will also never happen in the future, I think.

    @Turtle_Bot

    Thank you! :)

Is there something ideal you would actually spend it on? If nothing so far has piqued your interest, I'm curious to know if you have an idea of something you would be willing to spend it on.

Congratulations on collecting all of those seals! I was moving along the same path of holding onto seals in the beginning, but then I finally started spending them and have bought several fun things I otherwise would not have gotten over the years so I love the program!

I do have to ask, how could you not have been tempted by this?? 😊

see if i had been playing since 2014 i might have done the same. as it is the only thing i do buy with endeavors is the crafting motif sets for 3600. presumably OP has those from playing b4 endeavors came out and has been keeping them up since through normal game play so there you go. i concur. nothing would entice me either were i in their shoes

Regarding the achievement tho.... maybe you'd be the only one to achieve it. I think most of people spend their seals. I've bought about 3 or 4 mounts that I like very very much!

While I don't have that many SoE on one account.... over 4 accounts, both PC megaservers, I have about 160k total.

There's still nothing to spend them on....

Wow, very cool! Is there anything you've been waiting for/hoping will show up one day, or just in general not super into the cosmetics and whatnot?

Not really. I don't go out of my way to do endeavors - in fact.... just right now I'm logging in only to pick up riding on some babies. I'm.... feeling very disconnected from ESO these days. 7 years of play is.... a long time. That was about the point where I decided WoW wasn't fun any more.... After the big reveal (or whatever the devs want to call it) in April, I will decide if I'll ever mess with ESO again.

And to answer your question about if into cosmetics etc or not.... no, not really any more. After 7 years I already have all the costumes and other cosmetics I really want (across 4 accounts, both PC megaservers - so yes, I've spent a lot of money on this game for cosmetics). And I don't have any interest in flashy mounts.

That makes sense. I played back in beta, didn't really like the game, then was convinced to come back out of my love for Elder Scrolls in 2015 or 16 (can't remember for sure). During that time, I've burned out many times, taken so many years-long breaks that honestly, I may have been in a not-playing stage for more cumulative time than a playing-stage. I definitely feel over the years I've seen the game drift farther and farther away from what I'd like to see (although it does seem like maybe (???) there'll be some changes I'd like to see coming soon, although I sympathize since it seems to be the opposite for you).

Agreed on the flashy mounts, they're kinda tacky and weird (and I mean that in the least judgmental way possible for people that do like them ^^'). I always just use a normal horse or camel or whatever. Not sure if they just like never introduced it or if I've always been away, but one cosmetic that I might be convinced to pay money for would be some nice updos. Or I guess some makeup options that don't go quite as hard as all those eyeshadows attached to the various eyelashes.

Anyway, if you do end up taking a break, I hope you're able to either find another game that brings you joy or come back one day :) Always enjoy reading your posts on the forums when I come across them (hope that's not weird to say; I lurk a lot >.>)

I'm pretty much in the same boat hoarding seals as there is hardly anything appealing for me. I only bought a bunch of mount training scolls. But man that hurt because these are so ridiculously overpriced. A week worth of seals for just one single scroll...

Thank you. That's a very kind thing to say! As for another game, really I only play TES (I call it my "home universe" since I've played all the games in order, beginning with Arena's release in 1994), so it would be back to Skyrim and Oblivion most likely.

MMOs aren't honestly my thing - never were really. I got kidnapped into WoW and RIFT by family members, and ESO just followed on from Skyrim, when bethesda never bothered to give a release date for "TES VI".
