High elf candle holder cannot hold a candle properly

Whoever created this item didn't think about the real use - putting candles inside. It's impossible to do so without having at least one side clipping, as shown on the image.

    The candle holder is for decoration only, didn't you read the fine print?

    I know it's not supposed to be interactive, but it should have the right circumference of the candle.

    Yes, both things are craftable. I'm currently selling it in the TTM guild in Wayrest, EU server. :))

    It's called High elf candle holder, sturdy. You'll have to add an extra candle here, because it's sold/crafted separately AND it's not fitting without clipping. Still it looks neat on the table or above the bed. :)

    Oh, I was asking about that candle (its name), not the holder, because I already have that candle holder but don't have any candle that could fit in :smiley:

    I think that's called a small candle or something. Try finding the smallest candle in the crown store under "Lighting" menu in the Housing Editor. That will be the name for crafting.

    on a similar note:
    1. @ZOS_GinaBruno why, when crafted, does this item fall under "Lighting" when it doesn't light?
    2. Why does the Dark Elf Candle Holder include the candle and the High Elf version does not?

    Speaking of candles, y'know what's stupid about candles? There are three recipes in game for candles. Common Candles, Single, Common Candles, Pair and Common Candles, Set.

    Depending on which blueprint you know affects how many candles you can make. If you can make a single candle you, somehow, are without the logic to make multiple candles and put them in groups. Likewise, if you have the Candles, Set recipe you lack the knowledge to make a single candle. You understand how to make THREE CANDLES at once... but taking two of them away to make a single, solitary candle is somehow far beyond your knowledge.

    I don't get why ZOS couldn't make a single blueprint for "common candles" and unlock the knowledge for all off them. Housing is enough of a grind as it is, but to have the same knowledge

    There are two blueprints for Beets. The only difference is one of them has a string. Somehow, adding a string to a root vegetable is beyond our knowledge unless we have specific instructions.

    The blueprints lists are a freakin' mess.

    Ehm.... I was looking for information about this item and what candle actually goes with it, and found this post from year of our-deity-of-choice 2017. It is now nearly 2025, and it still seems that no candles fit properly into this holder without clipping.

    Unless I have missed something...?!

    However, I did discover the Breton chambersticks (tall and short), which are charming candleholders with candles included. But I am not sure why these are separate crafting recipes, considering a short candle is just one that has been used a fair bit. The shorter version should come with the tall chamberstick plans. Therefore, I sit in agreement that the many separate candle furnishing plans could be whittled down. (Also strung versus not-strung vegetables.)

    Right now I just want my high elf to have high elf furnishings, but for some reason she has to import Breton candleholders.
