Did you know? SPAM

Wolfi

Some of you may not yet know, that the often used term "Spam" comes from a Monty Python sketch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anwy2MPT5RE

I consider that worth mentioning, since John Cleese voiced Sir Cadwell.

The Spam used in this scetch is referencing to this I believe:
    Spam_2.jpg

I think this is also worth mentioning to get the whole picture^^

Fun Fact: There is a SPAM museum located in the state of Minnesota. I've been there. Got a T-Shirt... Yup.
I wish nothing but joy for everyone.

The spam in that sketch is the tinned spam Naguur posted.

It didn't start with Monty Python, Spam has been around much longer.

It used to be mocked a lot because it was cheap and everywhere ..... and it was nasty.

    it's been around since 1937.

    The more you know.

I don't think Wolfi was suggesting that MP invented SPAM, but they did invent spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam,

Did they actually have reduced sodium Spam in the 1970s?

Because that's when Monte Python's Flying Circus hit the U.S. airwaves on PBS of all places.

Imagine if Benny Hill was broadcast on PBS back then. :O

You need to move to the West Coast or anywhere with an Asian population and eat a Spam musubi. It's like sushi without vinegar water and Spam instead of fish with an algae wrapper. Mmm, sounds good?

Hello, all. While we can't deny the greatness of Cadwell, John Cleese, or the "food" Spam, we are closing this thread, as it is off-topic and not related to ESO. Thank you!
