For me, the Scholarium and Scribing were fleshed out enough to count as replacing companions for the Chapter, but I'm sure some people would prefer companions, and I think that's fine.
We used to get 3 new DLC per year, and last year we only got one. Getting two this year is at least something for ESO+ members to benefit from.

That is still not enough reason to not give the companions free to Gold Road owners, it means the new chapter that cost same as last chapter, gives way less content to the ones who bought it. At this point, it is less than half the content of Necrom chapter. This is shameful. I don't own the new chapter but I still think that it is unfair to the players who bought the chapter.
