Game crashing with dxgi_error_device_removed

The above error has been plaguing my wife's PC and from what I can see, there is no specific fix for this. Over the years there have been lots of suggestions but nothing that confirmed a fix.
We've done the following:
We feel like we've hit a wall now and all other games are fine, it's just isolated to ESO.

- DDU to remove and re-install drivers
- RegEdit to add TdrDelay/Level
- Disable AA from nVidia Control Panel
- Disable overlays inc shadowplay
- Limit games FPS from nvidia control panel
We feel like we've hit a wall now and all other games are fine, it's just isolated to ESO.

The steps just advise to check and update your graphics drivers. That has already been done, including the use of DDU and installing a fresh driver download.

Baertram✭✭✭✭✭Hi there, a friend told me he had simialr issues with his PC and got to do with the BIOS settings about the memory (RAM):
There are XMP profiles which control the RAM's votage and timings.
Some of these profiles make the computer instable and reboot or get blue screens with your error message.
My friend said he ahd to disable the XML "low profile" and after that the pc runs stable again.
My computer itsself uses a XMP profile BUT according to my RAM manufacteur I had to adjust teh volateg timing of the RAM to an increased value in order to make them run stable too (including CPU voltage adjustments).
XMP is a kind of overclocking afaik.
If you got that in your BIOS you could maybe test if disabling it will make it stable.
And if you do not want to disable it ry to find out what timings your RAM uses, and then adjust the RAM voltage in small steps until it maybe runs all stable.
There is nothing I can tell you more as I do not know more, so it's just an idea.

AlterBlika✭✭✭✭I had the same issue when I had instable undervolt/oc, so I figured out quickly what is wrong. Basically, your gpu crashes for some reason. If you don't do anything with your card's performance then maybe it has degraded. You can try lowering its clocks and see if it helps.
It may be a game problem though, but still worth to check out.0 -

yeah that's where I went with it but switched it out for an old card and the issue went away. Eventually we will test it again with alternative PSU cables to the GPU but for now its working. Def a GPU issue which is weird since we have put 80+ hours into Enshrouded, 300+ into Nightingale and neither had an issue.0 -
