Terrible Endless Archive Bug

So I spent a good couple hours getting things prepped for my first Endless Archive run. Eventually I took the plunge and got things started.

After a while I was in Arc 1/Cycle 5/Stage 2, and I had the last enemy remaining (it was a little warthog or bogdog or something like that.) It got clipped into the ground, then sunk into the floor permanently, and locked me in combat. I couldn’t use commands to escape, and I couldn’t teleport or log out because I was stuck in combat.

I had to hard shut down the game, and after trying to log in 8 times, and resetting my Xbox, I am now permanently locked out of the game for the time being.

Not a good start! Ticket being submitted after this!

Edit: It finally logged me back in, and all my progress got erased. I was one warthog mob away from killing Tho’at.

That can happen? Well that sucks.

Not sure if that works in fight but you could try to queue for cyro/dungeon if that happens again, this will reset the instance but at least you can get out.
Happens on PC too, got this like 2-3 times in my 50+ runs

I’m submitting a ticket after work today lol. I finally got off last night after my first complete run and was too exhausted to do it.

Finished a solo run with 92000ish score. Died on 4th regular boss of arc 3 (3/4/2)! Most of my deaths were silly glitches or marauder one-shots.

I’ll definitely try that! I used to do that when I got trapped in Cyrodiil delves (I’d usually queue for IC and it worked.)

Next time (hope it doesn't happen again) just hard kill your game to Windows and wait 15 minutes before trying to log back in.

10 minutes offline (better 15 to make sure) will COMPLETELY LOG OUT YOUR ACCOUNT and will put you out of combat and out of any instanced area/content you are in (trial, arena, dungeon, Endless Archive, etc.) if you are playing solo.

Won't help for archive though, the grace period you get before the instance resets is 5 minutes.

Also (since you're on windows), backup your addons' SavedVariables files once in a while if that's a technique you use. I recently spent the better part of a day reconfiguring all my addons, because all their data was gone after the game crashed and the only way out was killing the process.

I am pretty much in the same situation. Boss in stuck in books, cannot jump out, log out or get unstuck. Really disappointed in this whole situation.

Not able to die, cannot remove gear or weapons. I'm in hell right now.

Have you tried to queue to Cryodiil or IC? Accepting que should work while in combat. Of course even if it works it likely does not save your progress.

Yep this happened to me on PC just recently; a stupid dwemer spider decided to back up off a ledge and in to the wall, but it was one of those arenas without any cliffs to jump off of so there was no way to reset, so I just quit the game, came back an hour later booted out from EA. Ruined a perfectly good run.

ive also had enemies get stuck underground, scorching support can kill them if you stand in the right spots usually

if you are missing that though it can happen

if you want to exit the archive without force closing the game, you can group up with someone, then if you leave group it gives you the prompt to leave the instance

this will likely still end your run, but you wont have to hard reboot a console or alt+f4 on pc to get out of it

Something similar happened to me recently. I posted about it on the big forum but this is what happened.

I made it to Arc 2 solo for the first time. I was about to engage the 4th boss but when I took one step forward I was pulled to the Index and lost my last thread. To make matters worse I was then stuck in combat, even though combat had not even begun, and I could not port out or log off or anything. I had to force close the game and it took awhile before I was able to log in again.

I know, it won't help in trials, dungeons, arenas, etc., neither, that's why I said "it will put you out of any instanced area/content you are in".

My comment/suggestion was for him to not get his account locked in again.
