I no longer feel safe posting on the forums

I am no longer a valid member of the ESO community. There is way too much bad stuff being posted and nothing is being done about it no matter how much request and reports I put in. I lost trust in the moderators and the community manager due to believing everything other players said. I have autism and anxiety which means I dont belong here. This is my final post.

You can always utilize the ticket system to send in recommendations and ideas to Zos. Expecting the smattering of random moderators to always side with you and be at your beck and call is wildly narcissistic. Please chill out.

The internet is not a friendly space (for the last 30 years), people turn into beasts as soon as they anonymously surf around and are protected by their pseudonyms.
However, one should simply ignore those people. Even if it is hard to do so. And: It's nothing personal, so best is to not take it personal.
On the other hand: You can't expect any mod or anyone else to act the way you like it. There are probably reasons why they ignore you - and thousands of other people. It's not that they are just ignoring *you*, they are ignoring everyone. Again, that's nothing personal...

I agree with that, well said.

However, the forum is here for the community, not just for one member of it. If someone has personal health or other issues that make it difficult dealing with the community under normal forum rules and moderation then either that person uses the forum as a means of learning how to deal with such issues, or they struggle to do so in which case moving on (at least for a while) is a sensible course to follow - as game forums aren't something worth making your health worse over.

    I wish you well.

@wilykcat I would suggest to take a break from the forums if it's degrading to your mental health. Sometimes the best we can do is to take a step back and breathe. Wishing you the best.

I don't believe that people turn into 'beasts'. At least, not outside of occurrences of sociopaths and psychopaths that can pop up anywhere.

The issue is one of not seeing others as people. Because people cannot see the people they are talking to, they do not get feedback that they would get with more personal interactions. There is a disconnect. They do not see others as full people at first glance, and it takes longer to get to that level, if it is even ever an option.

It is not a matter of getting people to not act like "beasts" on the internet, it is a matter of realizing they aren't beasts at all.

See, this is why I cannot take you seriously.

You "don't feel safe" posting on the.forums? That's why you made an entire post about it huh?

Clearly you DO feel safe. This post is just like all of your "I don't like this discussion so I'm leaving and not coming back!" comments that you toss out frequently. You aren't scared, and you aren't leaving. You want attention, and playing the victim is an effective way to get it.

I understand you would like attention and sympathy, but a video game discussion forum is not an appropriate place for that.

Getting off these forums will be the best thing for you at this moment. I saw your previous post about being banned from other MMO forums, so at this point the best course of action will be seeking professional therapy until you've reached a place where you can return to forums in a healthy manner so that it doesn't affect you like this.

    Wish you well.

I'm usually the last guy who is a cheerleader for the corporation...but I think the Mods have a hard job...some folks want to be able to say anything to anyone and some folks want a very rigid high punishment Atmosphere like on the FFXIV forums.

I think there needs to be a balance

But I also feel sometimes favorites are played...it seems that certain people can say pretty much whatever they want and it won't get modded...that needs to end

I seem to remember a similar post here not to long ago? I cant honestly remember if it was by you or not. I do empathize but i also believe you bare some responsibility in sustaining your mental health. Forums, in any context are usually not a great place for those without a thick skin. Even if someone may not be outright insulting, curse you out, or anything technically against community guidelines it can still be difficult.

Its best to step away if you are overwhelmed but those things. Best of luck.

OP, you are certainly a valid member of the ESO community, but it's important to remember that these forums are for the entire community and do not exist only to cater to the wishes of one member of it.

As I've suggested before, if the forums were stressing me out and upsetting me significantly, I would look at taking a break from participating so actively in them, do something else that I enjoy, and think long and hard about what exactly I'm hoping to get by being active on the ESO forums. I think the reason most people are here is that they play and enjoy ESO and want to provide feedback and share / learn information about the game.

If one is seeking something else by being active here (such as attention, sympathy, support, etc.), it is worth taking the time to consider that an internet gaming forum may not be the best option for finding whatever else they are looking for and that there are other avenues of finding help with things going on outside of the world of ESO.

It is also worth slowing down and taking the time to think about what one is posting before doing so. It becomes increasingly difficult to take a poster seriously when they frequently make large numbers of similar posts; edit them to the point that they say something completely different than they originally said; and constantly request that they be closed or locked. I type out what I want to say, and read over it several times, thinking long and hard about whether I *should* hit that post button.

Anyway, I do wish OP the best and encourage them to continue contributing here, but to also look into whether there might be additional options for getting help with issues that may not relate to ESO.

    [EDIT for typo].
