This is mostly for the moderators. Other players please enjoy reading what ever this is. Caution- some will take this thread way out of context and flag it anyways. This is a thread meant to be funny.

My intention is to not break anymore rules after a recent incident on general discussion. That is where all the strange stuff happens on the forums. Its the weirdest category which I dont understand its purpose. If we can post all other suggestions for the game in more specific categories then whats the point of general discussion. That category should be split into other categories. Then most of the problems on the forums will be solved if general discussion gets nerfed.

The main categories (not sub ones like general discussion or dungeons) should be renamed. Official news/policies > In-game activities > Traders Forum > Customer Service > Guild Recruitment. No General main category. In-game activities category should include Solo/group PvE, PvP, Combat/classes/character, Questing/lore/exploration, Endless Archive, Companions and collectables, and ... The Traders Forum main category should include Crown Store/ESO plus/endeavors seals, Crafting, Housing, and Events/contest. Customer Service should include Bug Reports, General help, Tech support, and Questions about forum rules/policies. Official news/policies should include Official News/updates, Official contest/cosplay, Announcements/maintenece/patch notes, Forum rules/actions/ and info. Without General Discussion there would be more participation within other categories so none will be neglected. Also rearranging them with updated names and descriptions will help too.

First off I have to admit that sometimes I do mistakenly use the report button as a disagree button. This even includes my own comments. I thought my comments were good but then I regret posting them and then I disagree with myself. Then I file another report on my own comment to throw out the extra reports because another mistake happened. I'm not sure if reporting a report will make a difference or get me banned for reporting my report that's reporting my comment. There should be an actual disagree button next to the agree button that is shaped like a sad face. Then a new achievement on the forums which will grant bonus points for ever disagree reaction that is received. No need to falsely report anymore.

There is so much stuff on the forums especially in general discussion that I often misread or don't understand. I often see multiple separate threads all about the same exact topic. Maybe the ability to merge threads with alike ones instead of closing them will be a better option. It will make jobs a lot more efficient. The multiple separate thread clones becomes one big mega thread as a result of thread merging. Then there should be the ability that is very smart and auto detects spam and trolling ( on-purpose, not accidental). There should also be settings on every single thread that says "mute thread or unmute thread" Which will hide the specific thread from the user's view. That will solve another issue that will reduce the amount of false reports and it will prevent those from getting annoyed.

Then the ignore feature. I know what this forum software is capable of doing and yes. It can ignore up to 5000 people per request. I also know that on these forums ignoring 5000 people would be too much. I wouldn't mind if it jumped from 12 to 24. Then what if the software gets an update so the ignore feature could actually block others instead of a temporary mute of their posts. When others get blocked it should prevent the one who is blocked from responding to your original discussion and automatically hides their original posts from view when surfing through the categories. That would be awesome.

The players should not be the only ones to receive cool new features on the forums. Lets not forget about those who help keep the forums maintained. The moderators of legend. Yes I've seen the moderators receive both lots of negative attention on the forums and a very rare amount of positive feedback. Those poor moderators get no respect around here and I'm sorry. So I have an idea that may help out our friendly forum moderators here. They should get the ability to instantly jump from one thread to another without weaving through the categories, Some kind of AI tools to help them detect what is intentionally breaking the rules or not, tools to help them investigate more efficiently, and some more unique forum profile pictures too. They deserve something nice to help them out with their jobs as long if they don't get replaced by actual bots. I'm glad the moderators here are human beings like the rest of us so they are more understanding.

Then the worlds best forum feature on the ESO forums is me. I post very crazy ideas that somehow will improve the game and the forums despite other's doubts. I make some mistakes like other players when breaking the rules (unintentionally without meaning) and then get a notice. Hey I'm not talking about any specific moderation action. I often forget about the notice the next day and continue to post on the forums without breaking that same rule. Yes it is possible to do that. Then months after I all of a sudden remember that notice then the memory goes away. I know the moderators expect me to behave properly by following the rules the best I can even when its hard. This week it has been very hard indeed. Lots of general discussion related stuff and some personal real life stuff as well happened. I wont go into details. This is not about the one annoying thread that I keep on responding to due to curiosity and bad decision making.

I don't want to betray the moderators on the forums and I do want to be a player here. I'm not sure what that means exactly. People sometimes think I'm a moderator even know I never said I was one or claimed to be one. Other times I act more like a player and sometimes cross the line when posting. I want to be myself here without the autism masking ( acting like others in order to fit in and not be seen is weird). I sometimes sound like a moderator when posting too. I don't have ZOS_ next to my name, my text isn't green, I dont have "mod" or admin" under my picture. To confirm I'm not a moderator. I'm a player which means my text color is normal, I have star stickers under my picture, only my name shows without titles. I guess I'm different because I have similar values to what the moderators have of doing my best to keep the forums safe and to follow the rules, and I'm a player at the same time. Ok. I couldn't really write this one well.

Gosh!!! I have a ton to say about this forums and the game. I should make it into one post instead of many posts. To prevent accidental take over of the forums.

I didn't mean what I said in those reports. I was rage posting venting or whatever. Right now I'm more calm and acting more civil.

Then about the game I was hoping to create an army of kahjiits then realizing I dont have enough character slots or the arcanist class unlocked. I want kahjiits that can shoot lasers out from their paws and incinerate all those creepy spiders and trolls found in the dungeons. Imagine recreating nyan cat in ESO. That would be amazing. Customizable spell effects that allow color gradients and changes. Separate fur patterns from body markings and then changing the color of those separately.

This game can improve on character customization along with adding in some new features in regards to special effects.

Then add in pop-tarts as an actual in-game food item besides various other pastries and sweets that have very special unique buffs to them such as "sugar rush (increases all movement speed and attack speed by 500% for 5 minutes. Then comes with a debuff "sugar crash" which results in the exact opposite until using emote sit or sleep)" "rainbow glitter sparkles ( makes your character sparkle any color of choice)" and "throw food item at npc (knocks down npc when thrown hard enough, crowd control effects increased when hit is successful)". This game needs more random silliness like GW2. GW2 has dungeon monsters and weapons that look like various candies such as candy corn. That is very sweet.

This image is a suggestion for a new hair style and major adornment for all races in ESO.
    mx8tn6mgajn6.png
Its an old GW2 screenshot from two years ago when I somehow ended up creating a character that looks like myself.

The hair style is most of the head is shaved except for the top which is long and curly. Hair has a gradient coloration. The major adornment is the anime fox ears. The fox ears will automatically adjust based on ear shape, size, and position based on the character's race (kahjiits and elves will have larger fox ears when others will have smaller ones).

The hair gradient (shading) will be dyeable along with the major adornment. Hmm... This is still a developing idea here. Yes. Ability to dye hair in 3 different ways. Dye the base( main) hair color, the shading, and the highlights. This can be any color. Then also adornments should be dyeable too.

Maybe some new skill lines in ESO too, but maybe later. The ability to edit every single little detail of the face separately when creating a new character on GW2 was a great feature. Maybe ESO can get more advanced character customization options too.

Any further ideas I have for ESO will be posted as comments in this discussion. I like keeping all my ideas/suggestion all in one thread.

People's tastes vary, but I really can't agree with you on this point. I've also played GW, and so far the still rather "subtle" and "adult" design of the entire Elder Scrolls series is what attracts me to it. For me, all the glittering and glowing mounts, skins and morphs are absolute horror, because for me something like e.g. a Spriggan at the crafting table is immersion breaking. This is a creature that you fight somewhere in the wilderness and if I, as a magician, were to be hit by such a curse, then I had better not show myself in public because otherwise I would run the risk of being attacked. So, I don't want to imagine ESO integrating more "funny" and "silly" things into the game and turning ESO into a comic version of itself.

This is a serious question: are you okay and are you completely sure you want to engage on this online forum (technically a form of social media) with other players and varying opinions?

While it is your own choice and none of my frigging business, I see multiple things happen that make me doubt this is overall a positive experience for you.

Keep in mind that people are allowed to disagree with you or may see chances of improvement of moderation. Disagreements and misunderstandings are not really things worth reporting, and AI is not yet at a point where you want to onleash it to try to detect rule-breaking.

I struggle to find the words to reply, because my brain finds it difficult to see why you are scared of change (forum, moderation), but also want to change a lot of things to make it look like a different game. We all need to find a way to accept that ultimately nothing in life will go 100% our way. Especially when we are talking about an online game with some darker content and a forum that's trying to keep things PG13.

When online stuff gets in your head, sometimes it's good to take a step back and drink some tea.

I'm not sure if the forum & moderation change you referred to is an announcement to the forums/moderation that I've missed reading about (or has happened and I not see lol) or just speaking generally of her stated forum/moderation stuff. Is/was there changes for the forums?

Honestly I'm just here hoping someone knows WTF the "recent incident on general discussion" and "the one annoying thread that I keep on responding to due to curiosity and bad decision making" are since she has her forums profile set to private which translates into people can only search for times people have quoted or tagged her in forum posts/replies
    • Regarding "prevent the one who is blocked from responding to your original discussion and automatically hides their original posts from view when surfing through the categories" - - literally one of the worst "suggestions" I have seen on this forum in a long time. What you are saying is that if a person disagrees with what you have said or proved with absolute certainty that something you said is wrong, all you'd have to do is hit the block button and POOF nobody to disagree with you or prove your statements wrong. Its as if this thing you're suggesting would be used as a trolling method and abused greatly (and can easily be assumed you'd be one of those who are greatly abusing this thing you're suggesting)
    • Regarding "People sometimes think I'm a moderator even know I never said I was one or claimed to be one" - - I've searched the forums which shows anyone who has quoted or @ you and not one of them has mistaken you for a moderator. Literally anyone who reads the forums knows that there is the ZOS_ by their name and the avatar image clearly shows they are a DEV or MOD in it. This is not the case with you.

Not to be disrespectful but this entire post does not require using my BA Psychology to see there's more going on here than this self stated diagnosis. I can see at least three other things going on based on this thread and previous comments/posts you made that are accessible to the general public searching for them. IMHO I don't think these forums are a place you should be frequenting for your own mental health.

Removing the general discussion tab will likely just result in whatever forum section come up first in the order being the new general topic section and will just create more work. The only real way to address this better is to overall reduce the larger sections into better organizational structures and substructure, and use moderation tools to move threads and topics faster.

Abusing the report functions on the forums becauseyou just dont like somethingshouldnt be a thing. This feature should only be used to report forum rules violations, using it for anything else just creates more work for mods.

Do not include a dislike or other function on posts. Social media has proven this to be counter productive. If you don't like something and you have productive feedback then comment. If you dislike something and don't have productive feedback then disregard and move on.

If I don't like what I posted I edit said post so that it better reflects my intentions. If I want to remove it I edit and say "deleted".

If I find myself being too negative to others on here.... I ban myself from them and I take a break.

I think you need to have some hot cocoa and a lie down. (This is not snark.)

Aeons ago, in high school, I participated in choir. I still remember one thing my instructor told us: if you make a mistake, don't stop the show to apologize, just keep going. I think it's good life advice too. Sometimes, when we imagine someone has noticed our flaws, we make things worse. It takes soooo much willpower to let something go sometimes, but it's a very useful skill to cultivate.

EDIT: I saw your other thread. You're not invalid because you're neurodivergent. Speaking as someone that's recently been on an anti-psychotic, just...have that cocoa. It'll be okay.

So you want to remove the Auction House (General Discussion) and break it into Guild Traders (sub forums) while blocking mods from moderating your build threads that feature a high speed cat army which can shoot lasers just to have a sip on your Tamriel cola right after. Did i get that right?

Sorry to say it blunt OP, but the thread you're uncomfortable with isn't only perfectly viable topic for this forums and definitely not a violation of rules, but also @ZOS_Kevin reacted to it with a long statement regarding the concerns expressed over there. If a thread is viable or a violation of rules isn't for you, me or any other forum user to decide, but for the moderators alone.

While I definitely think, that you've every right to express your disagreement with decisions made by moderators (the thread you want have deleted is exactly about that topic), you'll have to learn to respect, if the responsible people don't share your opinion.

I you aren't able or willing to do that, it's maybe indeed the best to take a break from this forums. It's not the first time you're overreacting about those things in the end. It happens quite regulary and far too often imo.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.
