On the development side, we have a strict policy to never change art assets once they have been in the live game, except – and this is important – if they are obviously “wrong”

What happened to this policy?
You changed how NB looks, every motif I'm using on it now has changed, every motif now has that orrible glow.

Can I ask for a refund on the money I've spent to make my NB look like I wanted now that you totally ruined it?

Full on agreed. This is a retroactive visual change on every single nightblade, some of which - my main included - have been around since release.

Is the idea here really that we're just not to use one of the most important nightblade damage skills? Are you kidding me?

The quote you quoted is still correct though - they did not change any assets. There's merely an effect that isn't dispellable.

Changing assets would be like completely changing specific motifs.

You are technically correct, they haven't directly changed a motif, but indirectly changed all because now every one will have thet orrid red glow.

NB is not the "red themed class" but the class that strike from shadow, imagine hiding in shadows with a red glowing weapon lol

I don't see why the designers feel the need to add a glowing effect to everything possible. You can't do anything in this game without some over the top visual effect that has made it increasingly impossible to see anything in group content.

Well, before attacking someone you should maybe inform better.
As stated by Kevin the thing is now "working as intended", it's not some bug or oversight.

[snip] if you like the glow and want it to stay this way just say it, everyone is entitled to having a different opinion.

Hello, still waiting to have an answer on this.
Have you changed the policy stated above or not?

Since grimfocus permaglow changes evey art asset applied to weapons I would like to have an official response before doing any other purchase.

    Many thanks.

It doesn't change any other asset. It's just a lighting change.

Does that effect surrounding assets? Yes, but they themselves haven't changed.

You had the red glow before anyway when it was active. And if you never activated it why did you even have it on your bar?

Also calling NB not a red themed class is wild. Every skill effect is red, a vast majority of the skill icons are red.

It's not honest to not acknowledge the pretty substantial difference between the visual effect only being on by choice when activated for 60sec at a time, likely only during combat, and the visual effect always being on.

Yes, they are. Just like sorcerers are the purple themed class, templars are the yellow themed class, and arcanists are the neon green themed class. I'm still waiting for the cerulean blue class too.
On a serious note, the permaglow is pretty terrible from what I've seen. I don't play nightblade, but my friend does and they hate it quite a bit and have yet to stop complaining about it. Would be nice if Zenimax could change their "glowing, flashy VFX=cool" mindset, but I sadly don't see that happening.... these new radiant apex mounts have gone like 20 steps in the opposite direction of that.

No one is trolling you. You're trying to make an argument that assets changed when they didn't. ZOS didn't modify any existing assets - the glow that already existed is just now always on. Don't expect a response to a post where you're trying to fit your narrative into an obscure policy that wasn't even broken in the first place.

Take the skill off when you want to admire how your toon looks. There's no law that states you MUST slot that ONE skill 10000% of the time. If you hate how it looks, take it off.
