I want to apologize for this post in advance. I know politics is a sore subject and usually frowned upon within guilds whether PvE or PvP, but this is personal, and if I don't speak out, I'll personally judge myself for years to come. ZOS has decided that gifting should be disabled, so you cannot get Crown items unless you are willing to fork over irl cash. If you are like me (someone in the poverty threshold whose money goes towards savings and doctors' visits, yay US healthcare), I VERY HIGHLY advise you speak up about how this will affect you (not that you'll buy crowns, but that your interaction will cease entirely).

darvaria✭✭✭✭✭Yes, it affects all sides of the socioeconomic player base. Time vs Money. You can trade both ways. I'm still not seeing the logic here.

✭I am disabled, and I use gold to purchase crown items. Sadly, that is no longer possible. It's really frustrating that a small percentage of the player base seems to have ruined this for those of us who are disadvantaged.
I live on $400/month. It's awful. I filed for SSDI in 2018 and am still waiting. The pandemic made the wait times even longer. I cannot spend IRL money on this stuff. I do have time, and while I can't be consistent, that time adds up to gold in-game. So the gifting system allows me to access things I wouldn't be able to otherwise.
ESO is also part of my treatment plan for my disabilities. It's my main source of social interaction (I'm essentially homebound, leave my apartment only a couple times a month) and also a major component of my pain management plan. This change causes me physical distress.2 -
