Oakensoul BUFF or Refund

Ive spent 50 Euro to buy high isle addon which allows me to get the oakensoul ring and now it gets nerf to the point where there is no sense of using it, the builds using it were more squishy in pvp than builds not using it, but they allowed more damage than usual builds so it was kinda ballanced, the problem occured when people were using it on the dk which had 100% uptime on corrosive armor and molten whip that was broken, so the only thing that should get nerfed was dk and savage ww not the oakensoul, eventually you should only remove major heroism from the ring and it would be ok. Now i want zos to either bring back the old oakensoul or give everyone a refund. Zos should really start playing the game and read the definiton of ballance 100 times.

Tried to look up the word ballance in the dictionary... No entry.

But seriously. A refund? Your decisions are your decisions my dude and, beyond even that, there's a bit of a pattern with chapters and new equipment. You'll catch on.

Probably the only thing in the patch that one could argue is balanced. No need for any further changes to it.

    Favorite Foods and Potions

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

I used the U35 version for a whole week. I went back to double bar abilities because of lack of sustain. I tried multiple gear sets to make up for it but still not enough. Also modified all my CP stars and still reach to zero magicka in less than 5 seconds.

I used it to get my Perfect Maelstrom run but in several occasions I had to Hard weave and wait for the magicka regen to restore my magicka pool while avoiding the enemy's projectiles. Now I am trying to get the perfect run again with a double bar build.

You need to state the game mode you are talking about (edit: the op was talking about PvP)...

In PvP it is still powerful, according to others that do PvP like the OP (I don't)...

    In PvE who cares?

I too would like the old version back in my PvE so I might actually try some solo vet content (areans).

PVP, and well before nerf i had a morag tong - orders wrath - oakensoul snipe spammer build which was dealing huge damage and now apparently it does no damage at all, also it makes no point to limit yourself to 1 bar if you dont get the additional 400 + % buff damages

Not really, not for doing dungeons for undaunted pledges which is what I was using it for. While I don't like the nerfs on it, I can understand why they did it with respect to the impact on PVP. The problem is they nerfed so many other skills outside of the ring, especially for sorcerers, so it's useless now compared to a double bar build.

Not much point logging in other than to do dailies .

It's still incredibly strong in solo content and arenas. (Magsorc 1 bar build I run.)

I have no problem blowing through MA with it at all, and can still solo world bosses and normal 4 man base game dungeons without even needing to put on pale order. You might need to adjust your class's build and spec slightly to accommodate the changes.

It was no secret that Oakensoul (Brokensoul) was very overtuned for how easy it was to obtain. Players who expected that it would somehow not get nerfed at some point were living in la-la land or have no experience with "tall poppy syndrome" as applied to classes/builds/specs/items in MMO's.

See that's the thing, heavy attacking with 2 pets is boring for me. I've also seen some of the Hybrid builds with dual weapons and such but I liked my sorcerer the way she was. I only run with one pet and it's not that ugly little weasly AOE one, I like the other one - he peels mobs off me and heals me and that opened up an extra slot for something else. I'm more of a battle mage with a staff that like to wack mobs on the head :D

I get where everyone is coming with respect to adjusting my build but I feel like the classes are losing their individuality. Maybe it's me, I'm just too old. I don't' mind change but I really don't like that I could dual wield 2 weapons - if I wanted to do that I'd play a Nightblade. Do you see my point?

I run no pet or 1 pet bar with Oakensoul on my magicka sorcerer - inferno staff, false gods and mothers sorrow with valkyn skoria helmet and shoulders.

Other skills are unstable wall of elements, crystal fragments, force pulse, and channeled acceleration (if healing is not an issue) or critical surge (if you need more self healing) -- you can also run no pets and slot in Bound Aegis (for more resistance), Hurricane (more AoE damage), Mages Wrath (Execute), etc.

You can also use the healing ability of the Twilight Tormentor as your pet if you slot it.

people who complain ignore, that this ring is extremely overpowered.
Even monstersets don't give you the damage of just one of the major buffs. Slimecraw gives +5% damage, Oakensoul gives major brutality/sorcery, +20% spell/weapon damage. Plus all the other buffs. It is as if you wear 8 monstersets at once.

I think it was a big mistake to introduce this ring.
I think they only did it on order to avoid to have to fix some content that forces people to use this ring, especially those with some handicaps. Like 1-shot mechanics in vet dungeons (non-hardmode), or worldbosses that do not scale with the amount of players around them.
If they would fix such issues, nobody would need Oakensoul, and they could avoid shitstorms like now, where they had to re-adjust it as they realized it was a free godmode item.
