Diamond Victory set question

It says that using certain range abilities grants a buff for 5 seconds. The question is, does using mean activating ability, or ability doing damage? Because in the first case this set is useless.

Just ability. It can be selfbuff or debuff to. Light attacks and heavy attacks don't proc it.

A lot of abilities have 10 sec duration, which means that DV buff will be on only for a fraction of time, making it inferior to sets like Julianos.

Well you need to refresh it every 5s it is nice set but not one of the best.

You have to tailor-make your rotation to it I guess. One day I'm going to have a serious look at it...

I believe it used to be a pretty decent set for a month or two when Light Attacks procced the buffs as well, which made it easier to keep up both buffs on all classes.

I suppose it's still pretty easy on some classes without really tailoring your rotation around the set, such as a Necromancer (Blastbones procs Range Supremacy I believe, and both Skull and Siphon proc Melee Supremacy) and a Nightblade (Assassin's Blade procs Range Supremacy and Grim Focus procs Melee Supremacy). But if I was going to use a crafted set, I'd just go with Order's Wrath these days.
