Hey guys! We have Master Merchant, TTC(Tamriel Trade Center) and ATT(Arkadius Trade Tools) addons for price tracking. For those who has not been enlighted yet those are addons for item price tracking due to missing global auction house. How those work?...
1. Master Merchant: collects all sales info from your current guilds and shows average(with some additional functionality)
2. Tamriel Trade Center: By running this addon and client(YES THIS IS THIRD PARTY PROGRAM). Your guild listings as well as any item you seen by using guild store search function will be automatically upload to the site for other people to search and browse. The collected data will also be used to generate price info for everyone using addon.
3. ATT: Collects sales from the player's guilds and displays them as a list which can be filtered in various ways. The information gained from these sales is used in multiple ways:
Guild rosters are extended by two additional columns, Purchases and Sales, which display the particular volume per guild member and selected time frame
Item tooltips are extended by the average price and a graph displaying the price development. The time frame for these calculations (1-30 days) can manually be selected.
Item price statistics can be inserted into chat. For non-English clients there is an option to post the statistics in English.
When browsing guild stores, listings also display the average price of the given item, so the player can see if it's over or underpriced

So we have 3 addons which are somehow imitating global auction house. What we have after all: those who know about addons are privileged against other players without knowledge of pricing addon(which is honestly not fair imho). Also there are many players who sits on the TTC* website and tracking valuable item prices to resell it for 20-50x more expensive. So common player finds something valuable puts to sell in guild store for 1000 gold(this is just an example) and those players buying cheap items through TTC website and resell them. [snip]
And maybe this is why all the prices went somewhere to stratosphere... ZOS you have created beautiful game, but the economy of ESO is not in your hands any more....

So why cant we add core functionality straight to the game for showing average prices for all? Again, I'm not talking about fully functioning auction house, just an average price for sold items per server for all players. What do you think guys is this idea good? Please vote!

P.S. As a 5+ years experienced developer I can create new forth addon(or just a desktop program just for me which is automatically checking prices and notifying me about underpriced items, thus I can become Jeff Bezos + Gates + Ilon Musk in the game....) using all the data from these 3 addons(also from TTC website) collect all the information I need and kinda cheat(I have already working prototype, and recaptcha on TTC page wont save them, this is just an information).

*TTC: I don't have anything against creators and/or addon itself, but dear ZOS this is definitely third party program which collects data and send to other server.... If this is okay I may Implement the program mentioned above(at least for me for now)

Yes I would like to have core functionality in game which is showing average sold prices for every tradable item.

No, I against this idea let skilled players cheat all others(and keep in mind besides cheating, all addons mentioned above don't have the comfortability compared to ZOS implementation)....

    Thirded.

Also missed out UESP price tracking. Which gives detailed charts, showing trends, over periods of time.

They're also not imitating a global auction house. A global auction house is exactly what the name impies. You go to the auction house and buy the item. Just because it appears on TTC's site doesn't mean it won't be long gone. It also means there's travel time between wherever you are and the guild trader.

Even the addons are not flawless when it comes to showing average. Master Merchant, for example, has an option to trim or exclude items sold outside a certain range, which is about as good as it gets for determining an average. TTC, however, doesn't have this. So people list for 2m and someone lists for 10 gold, and we have an average somewhere around 600k. That's generally why traders don't rely on just one specific addon. If ZOS did implement it, there would have to be options to trim data wildly outside the average (but then is it truly average or just a "fair" representation of average?), to get data only within a certain timeframe, and ability to show global or just your own guild. Otherwise addons are still the way to go.

You believe the addons to be the reason why inflation has skyrocketed on PC. So you want to implement these features as base game so that console can also suffer the same inflation? I don't understand the logic.

Edited to add: ZOS has never stated that they want the ecomony to be in their hands. They've always said it's a player-driven economy.

Such an endeavour, the effort required, is largely pointless. You're also missing the key point with the addons in that they require people to upload the collected data immediately for you to get a notification to go buy it. That often doesn't happen until people have checked multiple guild kiosks.

If it was worth it, we would have already seen it happen.

It would be nice to have an average, max, and min sales price for an item sold in my guilds (not globally). This is why I use Master Merchant.

Agreed for aforementioned reasons regarding bias and vitriol. Also, add-ons don’t exist on console. Really kills me when PC users say things like”X add-on exist so it should be added to game.” It excludes the perspective of console users.

Yeah, me too however many that makes.

And on top of that, just not interested, because I refuse to mess with this total mess of a "trader" system. On the very rare occasions when I need something from a trader, I either buy it from one of the 6 in Vivec or I do without.
