Do not release the eternal weakness to elements change

The cyrodiil combat bug, that prevents leaving combat, will cause everyone to have major breach permanently in any major battle. A fix similar to what has been done for inner beast, where it is only permanent for non-player targets would be an appropriate fix. Another great fix would be to, as suggested elsewhere, have it apply minor breach as well, opening up tanking to players that do not wish to devote a bar to sword and board.

This change will completely mess up the change to battle spirit, as 5900 resist reduction removes 9% damage mitigation, which when combined with the battle spirit change, will in fact further decrease TTK, worsening the situation.

I believe this change to be critical to this rebalancing of TTK in cyrodiil, and am extremely concerned that it might go forward.

Save us from this calamity devs! You're our only hope!

Yes this definetly needs to be changed. It shows a complete lack of awareness in terms of the issues that occur in cyrodill. Literally make this morph do anything but permanently apply breach. It will be totally abused...

    It can.

It could be interesting if you build expecting it. Major breach won't be too bad in light armor, since you gain the damage mitigation from the light armor passive against mag attacks. And in some specs, spell resistance is already higher than physical.

Not to mention, in a mag spec with less armor to begin with, chances are major breach is just over penning anyways.

But, on a mag build, getting hit with this perpetual status effect, paired with Survival Instincts and Arcane Alacrity, you can roll dodge almost constantly, so it will be a fairly significant boost to survival in extended fights. 160 less cost with a shield up and 25% reduction in cost as well, on top of the light armor reductions.

I get those nasty 450 second debuffs in cyriland. I loves them. I can roll dodge constantly. basically exploit all the cp stars that are tied to negative status effects.
At least this one doesn't have to be broken like a stun so we will have stam. looks legit lolz let's roll

I think the problem is the infinite combat shouldn't exist in the first place. I would prefer that to be fixed than to take away the new buff. But I agree with OP that another fix would be to only make it permanent for non player mobs.

Does the debuff carry though? Has anyone tested?

Like some things that happen "in combat" count, but others don't.

Like, you can't mount or use wayshrine. But, sets that require "while in combat" don't. So we know for sure it's the prior.

Ether way, the proposed change is less anyway. Still the weaker morph. Save yourself one GCD every 30 seconds vs a lot of mag sustain. It's a no brainer.

I don't know why they don't give the skill something else with a pve flavor.

The biggest problem is that it's the status effects are sometimes the culprit of the "in combat" bug, meaning that you can apply this to an enemy and have them permanently stuck in combat until they die or force quit.

ZOS really needs to change this before the next PTS patch.

Either that or seriously look into the stuck in combat bug. Maybe reverse how the check is performed? Since the main purpose is to prevent players swapping their gear or mount up in the middle of a fight, maybe have the game apply "in combat status" only when trying to swap gear, quick slots, mount and remove the proc sets restriction until they can find out exactly what causes players to become stuck?

Tying it too combat must have been a pve decision and wasn't considered what it will do in Cyro.

Why not just remove the mag steal and increase the timer?

Seriously doubt that it stays on you forever and not just a UI bug like all the other effects.

You're forgetting that what you see on the client-side is not always what the server-side is doing.

Without proof, seems like speculation with an agenda to get the skill nerfed so that it won't be as good versus permacloak NBs and attempted 1vXers.

Don't care either way, but someone has to be the Contrarian and offer the opposite point of view, especially when there's a lack of evidence.

This is a creative use of a negative effect.
