How to unsubscribe from a thread?

I currently I turned on notifications on threads I've commented. But is there a way to stop receiving notifications for a specific thread?

    The comments above address bookmarks, but OP is referring notifications on for threads you’ve participated in. There is currently no “unsubscribe” feature on these forums.

    Back when I had notifications turned on I would not participate in threads that seemed like they would spiral, because I didn’t want to get bombarded with notifications on it. Since I’ve turned notifications off, I’m only able to keep up on conversations I’m interested in if I favorite it.

    Click in the star next to your inbox. This is your bookmarks. Then you will see all topics and you can click on a golden star to unsubscribe.

    I think go into your profile, access Bookmarks, and you can switch off notice from there by clicking the yellow star to make it grey.

    Ah, I'd forgotten about that situation. I've never turned notifications on because I just track through Participated. Just one more area where vanilla forums are not "standard".

    The good news is, it’s much less of a problem than it used to be. In the early years of the forums there were a lot more people here and threads quickly went to 10+ pages. Now the forum population is low, and the approach to moderation pretty much guarantees that any thread that hits 3 pages or more will be locked within a day.

    There's no way to stop notifications for a specific thread: you can only be notified from all threads you've commented or none. No "mid therm".
    I had your issue once and I've decided to "fix" the issue by turning off all the notifications for the threads I've made comments on.

    u don't half to disable all, u just need to uncheck box that says:
    New comments on posts I've participated in
