IDEA: Aura and Transform mementos

So I was wondering why the auras aren't a different type of memento, one you can toggle on or off instead of having to recast and not be able to deactivate them at will.
Same for the transforms, shouldn't those just be Polymorphs instead? They do the same thing a Polymorph does.
Auras:
  • Almalexia's Enchanted Lantern
  • Storm Atronach Aura
  • Floral Swirl Aura
  • Wild Hunt Leaf-Dance Aura
  • Dwemervamidium Mirage
  • Swarm of Crows
  • Inferno Cleats
Transforms:
  • Storm Atronach Transform
  • Wild Hunt Transform

    For mementos being one of the premium rewards they do feel *** to use. Like why is the campfire 20 seconds long? Let me guess.. engine issues? Why are the expensive glowing weapons only lit with unsheathed yet NPC's can have forever lit flaming swords... Ah yeah engine issues. This game exudes the aura of being held back and using backhanded fixes to save the engine which at this point is held together with tape and bandaids.

    Skyrim, Fallout, etc. all use the Creation Engine, which - at this point - is problematic and riddled with a lot of issues that only recently the devs at Bethesda have begun trying (and not always successfully) to address. For the past couple of decades before 76 was released, these were issues they seemed to be content to let modders address.

    ESO does not run on the Creation Engine. It runs on the Hero Engine, which is much newer and cleaner (though it seems to require higher processing capabilities). Just sayin' - the engine argument doesn't explain nearly as many issues as a lot of people seem to feel like it does.

    As for the topic, I feel sort of MEH about it. We already have so many flashy things in this game it's a bit over the top. On the one hand I feel like it's already too much, but on the other I feel like "What's one more?".

    I do agree that Mementos are a pain to use for being premium content, but I think this is more of a UI issue. Speaking only for myself, I usually see a new memento, use it once to see what it is, and then rarely (if ever) use it again. This would change if they were easier to access.

    Mementos are fun for when eleven people are waiting in front of the first pull while the 12th is still fishing because he hasn't realized we started.
