I'd rather they tested the timer checks on things like daily quests than the craft bag.
We're talking about keeping timers on every character...thousands of them per server. I have 13 characters myself, I know others who have many more than that ..
A universal timer would eliminate the processing power of keeping track of every timer per character.
If ZoS thinks it's calculations and character checks that cause lag, I'm sure that would go a long way to cut down on the checks the server has to make.
PvE Cyrodiil. Disable all PvE related content in the PvP version, have a PvE only version. It would reduce the number of actions going on in the PvP one for certain and reduce the number of extra players running around minding their own business who aren't contributing to the fight at hand.
Given I and many PAY for that service specifically, this is a terrible idea. You are basically asking ZoS to keep other people's money and stop providing the purchased service.
While I typically laugh at people posting about legal actions on game forums this honestly could create one and it could easily have legs.
I support your position on mudcrabs.
It's hard to think of the craft bag as a big cause of lag though. For one it's probably the least computation intensive part of inventory, as it's just a flat set of numbers for each item type, nothing else is tracked (and the auto stow can be turned off). Second, if you've been in a high pop Cyrodiil where almost no combat is happening (can happen during events), the level of lag is quite low, and those conditions will have just as many bags active as super laggy stack vs stack keep fights.
