Cute. It's no great secret yahtzee is no fan of MMO, so it's like me trying to review Star Craft or something.

I do enjoy watching/listening to the escapist, although, I frequently find many of his "reviews" to be...rather lopsided. I wouldn't actually disagree with most of the points - I *didn't*, in fact, ASK for an elder scrolls MMO, and there's no doubt that making the elder scrolls franchise into what is a more-or-less traditional MMO format definitely screwed us out of some of the unique features of Elder Scrolls games, truth be told, it's one of the more satisfying MMO's I've played.

By focusing on all the things he (justifiably, I believe) criticized and hated, he sort of overlooked all the features that do set Elder Scrolls Online, on it's own merits, as a surprisingly enjoyable MMO.

Elder scrolls has created a really quite satisfying single player story experience - maybe not as good as it would be if it was a solely single player game, but it's fantastic compared to most MMO stories that I've played in. It's replicated a lot of the lore and regions of the Elder Scrolls areas and rolled them into a single game, which is something that ES hasn't done since...daggerfall? (or was it arena - whichever one had the whole of tamriel to interact with, and not nearly in as gorgeous a fashion), and it DOES have something that no single player ES game has had - the ability to interact with real people.

Also, combat isn't nearly as 2-dimensional as he made it out to be, unless I've thoroughly misunderstood it. Blocking does not appear to be animation based. In order to block standard attacks, you have to begin your block BEFORE the enemy swing animation has begun - you do that, it works fine, every time (at least for me) - if you block during the swing animation, it fails, and while I found that distracting as well initially, once I discovered how I could consistently block attacks, I realized that it just wasn't working *quite* the way one might expect.

The variation between blockable power attacks, interruptable build-up attacks, and unblockable-but-dodgeable area attacks, makes for a nice, active combat system while still being fairly simple. As much as I like playing elder scrolls single player games, combat in morrowind through skyrim has always suffered from being more simplistic than I would like, and I really rather enjoy ESO's take on combat.

so, not that anyone asked or cares, but since it's posted for perusal by the public, I simply say this - that while I wouldn't say that any single thing said in the review is *wrong*, I do think the reviewer, by focusing only on the things he hated, managed to kill his ability to enjoy the many features of ESO that actually ARE enjoyable. And while that's fine for *him*, for me - I've found things to enjoy in ESO, and I intend to continue enjoying them for as long as I can find a reason to - and for anyone looking for a reason to try out or not try out ESO - just keep in mind that while the above review isn't necessarily *wrong* about anything, I think I can safely say that it doesn't by any stretch of the imagination cover the whole experience of ESO, and there might very well be more things to like that he *didn't* cover, than there are things to dislike.

    Hilarious as always.

I do agree however, I wish the game had gone more sandbox-like and less the linear progression it is. I suppose that's why Cyrodiil and Craglorn, and future content expansions, will be much better because everything is roughly the same level range and you can focus on the experience, not so much the level difference between you and your opponents.

The redguards "racial bonuses" bit nearly made me fall off my chair with laughter. :D

He rather predictably didn't like it, being the multiplayer hater legend that he is.

Omg this guy is so annoying that I couldn't bare the first 2 minutes of the video.

    So many forced/unfunny "jokes".

The guy is just another *** nerd.

    Bare:
    1) Without clothing; naked; nude. Bare legs.
    2) Without the usual furnishings or contents. Bare walls.
    3) Open to view; unconcealed; undisguised. His fears laid bare.
    4) Unadorned; bald; plain The bare facts.

    Bear:
    1) To hold up; support. Those beams bear the weight of the roof.
    2) To hold up under; be capable of. I couldn't bear the first two minutes of the video.
    3) To bring forth young; give birth. To bear a child.
    4) To produce by natural growth. That tree bears fruit.

Yahtzee is well known for his hatred(nay, LOATHING) of MMORPGS, so this review is no surprise. However, I did laugh at his jokes, which are usually quite well thought out and full of that dry, British humor....even though he's an Aussie(iirc).

Also, that "d-bag nerd" makes more than you ever will, and is far more popular than you or I will ever be. Thank God for small favors.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.
