Hi
After just over a week bumbling about in the game, I am now actively seeking a suitable guild to join. Please take the time to read the entire post if interested. Thank you.
Experience
I have played a small number of MMOs (WoW, WAR, AoC, SWTOR, LOTRO) as I don't just flit from one game to another. I like to focus my attentions on just 1-2 at a time and invest time into them properly.
Out of the above MMOs, I have participated in end game only in WoW and WAR. I used to be what you might call a hardcore raider in WoW some years ago but have very much taken a step back, though I still like to play to a good standard (completed heroic content of current expansion a couple of months ago) even if not super serious. During these times, I have been an officer, raid leader and recruitment officer in a number of guilds during my more serious days.
I enjoy making Youtube vids when I have spare time. Nothing that should get Ridley Scott worried. Also, I'm not a fantasist trying to make money out of it, so I don't force links to the stuff down people's throats. But some people like seeing videos of group content they've been involved in and I oblige now and then.
What I'm looking for:
As I said, I don't play super serious anymore but there's a difference between playing casual and simply not caring. I always want to play properly, no matter at what level and am interested in guilding only with those of a similar mind.
I am looking for mature players with similar MMO experiences to my own. Not in terms of the specific MMOs, but people who focus their time on 1-2 games at a time rather than move from one to another with breathtaking speed. I am interested in stability.
I am looking for people who enjoy co-operative group play. I am predominantly a PvE player but no stranger to RvR (I did enjoy this feature of the Warhammer Online game). However, people should be interested in grouping for mutual benefit. I don't want someone 20 levels above me boosting me as if its helpful, and nor do I take kindly to people asking me to boost them. The aim should be to form groups of mutual benefit or not at all. If the guild has been carefully formed around mutual interests, this shouldn't be a problem.
What I wish to avoid:
People who slag off other MMOs whilst their idea of end game is random grouped content. e.g if you slate WoW, I expect you to have completed the heroic content. These sort of people are perhaps not playing games which suit them and my company would definately not suit them.
People who want everyone to do things for them. I enjoy grouping but only for group content. Grouping for solo content delays my learning of my class and the game. To be sociable is what guild chat is for.
Hardcore TES players who were really wanting TES VI. I'm sorry but I don't care if this fits into the TES jigsaw or not, or any number of other objections. Everyone has things about any game they wish were different, but I only wish to guild with people who enjoy the game for what it is, not what they wish it was.
People who rever Justin Timerblake. Sorry, we just won't get along.
