Enchanting....

I have seen a lot of people talking about how much work enchanting is. "Constantly looking for resources" "Not enough gold" "Vendors have enough Enchants anyway". I think that Enchanting is one of the best professions. It certainly looks the coolest when you're doing it too. Listening to my character speak in the Enchanting language (excuse my lack of lore knowledge) is affirming. I come across runes pretty often in the open world, and recently I have been getting a lot of glyphs as loot. Even so, if you're in a major city, you can buy some cheap glyphs from a vendor and disenchant those to get the runes. You've got yourself multiple full phrases at this point and you're translating all of the runes and you can make the phrases that you want. I like it. I don't know, I could be missing something, but I don't think it's that much more of a hassle than any other profession. Besides "Master Enchanter" is a dope title.

The first 7 levels are easy... after this it gets slow..unless one ships enchants to another Character to disassemble. Don't need to do this with any other profession, do you?
Personally I run two Chars enchanting for I got a little frustrated with the slow progress. For me this works well.

Buying enchants from Vendors so as to take them apart (in my opinion) is a little self-defeating.... but that is me....

I agree with you that creating the actual enchants is cool. So cosmetically the craft is fine.

But it just seems weak to me when it comes to practical use.

I can usually obtain better enchants than I can make more easily from the vendor at very reasonable prices. And aside from weapon enchants, I have just found no real use for this craft. Certainly not enough to justify the vast amount of inventory space it consumes.

Now it may get better later on. I'm still new in my enchanting career. But I can attest at my current stage, I am seriously considering dumping my points and putting them somewhere else more productive.

I've got Enchanting to like level 36 or 37.

It is, without a doubt, the hardest and least rewarding profession in the game.

Don't get me wrong, the stuff I can make is amazingly useful. I can enchant your gear and you will instantly go from trash to godmode.

But it is the hardest profession to level. It is the hardest profession to collect for. The mats are crazy rare (mostly Potency Runes.)

And I get ZERO recognition on the final product for my work. Next to where it says "Crafted by _____" it should say "Enchanted by ______."

I am enjoying Enchanter but my problem stems from the fact that I am constantly looking for aspect runes...up to lvl 10 it was constantly looking for Potency runes. It seems like no matter what I do I am always short on one type of rune.

Essence runes are the opposite, I have so many of them in my bags that the character is basically always 5 items from full. :P

@Nordjitsu So it seems by what you said, is that it sucks to level, but once you DO get the level up, it can be very useful skill that not many people take the time to do. So it's kind of an "If you have the patience" profession.

Sounds about right. But I still don't like that I don't get recognized for gear that I enchant.

I just got to 29 in enchanting. Leveling goes slow if you don't have a crafting buddy to trade glyphs with. But I noticed something when I leveled up this morning. 28-29 required 247,660 inspiration points. 29-30 only requires just over 70,000. How does that make any sense?

    @Nordjitsu I can understand that.

There are TONS of gold and purple runes on the market now due to the 'item' dupe bug. One guy when from 0 to 50 enchanting in a few hours. I don't know how they are going to fix that. So many people have maxed out there trade skills due to this bug. I can see why some are looking at server wipes.

It's hands-down the most frustrating one I've tried.
