I just saw a sorcerer healer get the god slayer

So that made me think, Iv'e always taken for granted healer are templar or wardens. Obviously sorcerer must provide something as a healer they dont. What is it?
The raid had 1 dk tank, 1 warden tank, 1 templar healer, 1 sorc healer. And the dd's was nightblades, templar and necros.
Iv'e been a sorcerer dps for a long time, always heard they are no good healer.

✭✭In a magicka dps heavy group the sorc's minor damage passive (forget the name but its proc'ed by casting dark magic skills) is unique to them, so you need at least 1 sorc to maximise a groups magicka dps.5 -

In some cases and build set ups, sorc healers can be hybrid DD. Also, sorc provide 2 unique buff, one is minor prophecy and other is major berserk. Sorcs in general are excellent when it comes to crowd control.1 -

✭✭✭✭People always forget that when people discuss the "meta", it is a hyper specific set of conditions and a specific composition, even sometimes along specific strats.
That group might have a player that is a fantastic stamplar dps, providing minor prophecy and minor resist debunks on cooldown. Just that *one* change means that a healer can go a totally different setup.2 -

✭✭Sorc healer is fine. You bring conduit, minor prophecy to the group you have great sustain if you use dark conversion as your dark magic skill and between resto staff line and power surge your healing is good too. If you find that you dont want a sorc as dd having a sorc offtank or healer is required in a full mag group.Politeness is respecting others.

✭✭Sorcs have moved into competent support roles, since you don't really see a lot of sorc dps in endgame stuff anymore. Sorc tanking is amazing in vcr.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭In top groups healers are mostly off-healing while providing different buffs and debuffs. Sorc healers can give a group minor prophecy via their class passives, they can do a lot of damage in trash pack fights, and can also provide maximum RO uptime. For groups pushing scores, where everything is carefully controlled, and there's no need for much reactive healing, this type of off-healer is preferred. For other groups, and PUGs, sorc healer is also viable but needs to work harder, and loses the edge over warden/templar imo, because more traditional healing is needed in those cases, and it's easier to have more healing output in those classes.1 -

Well, that can change in an instant, soon ZoS will do something about class balance again, an overhaul. Because as it stands now we just can't have the current necro and nightblade hugging.
