Supposedly its a traditional MMO security measure that doesn't really work due to people tending to give out their passwords to friends and family. Sure you can be *** and refuse but who wants to be a *** to someone you trust?
Good point, but the first thing I think about in response is key loggers, which render you having to type in the password every time a strike against security. So its you're dammed if you store your password, and you're dammed if you don't.I thought it was a security measure for the sake of storing your password in a physical location, as in being able to be targeted by third party malicious downloads, not for sake of locals hopping on and trashing your account for spite.
@mairwen85 Yes. I have no use for it. It can be used ingame for chat messages or something, but Skills for example will not work. The macro will only cast the Skill it first memorized, so for example if you have 1 -> Weapon Swap -> 5 or something like that it will only cast the Skill on 1 but nothing more. Propably because it is to fast and the server won't allow it.
