Bank Robbers!

Hey Zos! I am am so tired of being used by bank robbers that I had to take a pause. Yesterday I put in a ticket for about the 5th time since the release of ESO! And again you do nothing when I feel you are the ones in control. As I asked years ago about setting the guild banks to have a certain amount of items a player can withdraw rather than a rank..

Rank is good but only if there is a certain amount that can be applied for each player.
I run a social guild and I like to have players to add and take from the bank as needed without the need to ask in guild if someone can get an item for them.
So, A couple of players by the name of "[snip] & [snip]" Jacked me for over 400 items that was there for everyone. With a total amount in gold for around 400k.
And this is your answer to me!

: (Game Manger) We certainly do our best to help when we are able to. Please keep in mind that we do not help with Guild issues or Guild Politics as Guilds are player to player interactions. We are not able to restore items to the Guild that removed by another player. If there are any questions, just let us know. We will do our best to address them.:

But you make the rules and we follow them but there are the ones that Riot! (Looters) And we can not even be defended by the rule makers!

In short, Guild banking needs to be changed and yes I no I could have set the rank so that could not happen but I wanted to be helpful to the need players in a reasonable way!
And for that I got robbed....
Thank you!

    Wait so...

In ESO guild members can take out unlimited numbers of items from the guild banks if they have the ability to take out any?

Or can we set a limit that each rank in the guild is allowed to take?

I've not run a guild here so I don't know how it works. I used to run a guild in WoW a decade ago - and they had bank tabs. So I set access to the tabs by rank and then a number for each tab - and left one tab as fully unlimited open.

But when I go the bank here, I don't think I've seen any tabs for the guilds I'm in... so we don't have that.

Curious to know how it does work at present. As a former 'guild lead' for many years in 2 other MMOs - my habit is to just not take anything without checking first. So I've never thought about this before here.

@kichwas in ESO, you can set ranks in a guild with different permissions. If a given rank is allowed to withdraw from guild bank, it means that in theory a person on that rank can completely empty the guild bank of items.

Hi, Yes if you have a rank set to withdraw from your guild bank there is no limit to what a player can take. If they like they can take everything like they have done me for the 10th time... I just be trying to be nice and keep useful items there and again I been robbed by bonnie and clyde look a like's

    Wow...

So there's no ability to do something like...

Member: can take 2 items per day
Officer: can take 10 items per day
    Admin Council: unlimited

    - If it's only:

    Recruit: take nothing
    Everyone else: take it all

Then yeah... that's a design flaw.

    WOW.

    not going to happen!

Then it'll get locked by the mods for breaking the forum rules. Try blacklisting those players somewhere other than the forums if you want to name-and-shame.

You might also want to consider giving out your bank items personally when players need them, instead of opening it up. Unless you are okay with players deciding they "need" ALL the items.

The problem therein is that rather than allow the discussion or even lock the discussion, leaving the name might result in them deleting the discussion.

And the general point you want to make in this thread is an extremely good one that needs to be kept alive...

This is what reddit and discord are good for...

There's got to be something like a 'guild leaders' discord. Back when I was running my guild in WoW, for the first few years before they had cross server grouping, most of my server's guild GMs kept in contact with each other. When we got problem players we privately circulated the names around...
(once cross realm stuff came in, all sense of server community vanished in a few months, even though guilds were still server restricted.)

Correct: I came from WoW as well and I moved my guild here with the same setup except for the banking.
I did love how in some other games I played there was a limit to each tab/rank or both...

I really want a change in this banking system here! So hurt because I asked members last week what was it they would need to help them the most and Me & other Players added what we could just so it could be taken by 2 players to go and sell...

Than the first one left the guild. The other was still in guild so I sent them mail about returning the items and the next time they logged on they left guild on me.

They need to have slots or tabs in the banks with controls, rather than trying to control players.

Unfortunately you cant have it both ways. If you are going to allow players to take items from your bank at whim, you are inevitably going to encounter people who will take out way more then their fair share. Limit the ranks that can take out, and make it so that if someone wants something they have to ask, until they add a withdrawal limit per time period, this is the best solution.

I absolutely support the idea to have an option on how many items can certain rank get from bank.

It can be daily or monthly, either way it must be implemented as QOL feature.
There should be a slider so guild master or officers can edit ranks and assign a number one each one.
    Like - new member: 10 weekly/monthly
    Member: 50 - 100 whatever

It should be a peanut to program and add with one of the next patches to game.
The problem is that it will never be done, since they are busy adding new stuff to crown store-

That's what my guilds do. Generally if you want something from in there, it's something worth some gold, but guild members can pay TTC/MM average price for it. I get motifs I need for master writs that way. I just email someone who has the right to do it, and they'll send it back to me. If they know me, they'll send me the item, and ask me to send them the gold, and if they don't, they might COD it.

Yes, it would be nice to have a limit on the number of items a player could take in a week but I would much rather be able to create two or three sections where grant view and retrieval access to each section separatly.

In the meantime, we have control over who we give access to. I never give access to anyone I do not know and trust. It has worked out very well so far.

FYI, I would suggest editing out the player's names. Your choice but Zos might go further than editing their names out since they do not permit naming and shaming. I expect someone has noted this already.

This happened to the Dark Sisterhood's guild too. A player I won't name & shame, even if I would like to, emptied the guild's bank and left the guild immediately after his theft. No response from him to our messages and ZOS did not do anything about it either. SHAME! 🤬

@Dirtybyrd I really sympathize with your situation until ZOS fixes this just make people ask you for which items they want. Then give them when you can. Maybe even charge a small donation fee.

That way you don’t get taken advantage of. :)

    Greetings all,

After review we have decided it best to keep this thread locked as it was only intended to Name and Shame others. Naming and Shaming is a violation of the rules we have in place and is stated as follows:
Naming-and-Shaming: We do not allow posts or threads that are created for the purpose of “naming-and-shaming” other community member(s). “Naming-and-shaming” is the act of creating a post to call out an individual or group by name, and making them the subject of public accusation, ridicule and/or shaming. Generally, naming-and-shaming involves an in-game situation and/or Terms of Service violation, which the ESO Community Team is unable to assist with. A certain amount of rivalry and competitive razzing is healthy for any game community, especially one with PVP elements, but naming-and-shaming goes well beyond that. It typically elevates to a point where the subject feels legitimately harassed. We believe that naming-and-shaming posts and threads can be abused and are very harmful to the community. We also don't feel that publicly calling out or accusing others by name on our forums is in spirit of the game or our community. If you genuinely believe someone has violated our Terms of Service, you should report them in-game via the support interface — do not bring the situation onto the official ESO community forums.
If there may be any questions in regards to the rules, please feel free to review them here.

    Thank you for your understanding,
    -Greg-
