Victory Day (9 May)

Victory Day is a holiday in 22 countries (most ex USSR) that commemorates the surrender of *** Germany in 1945

27 million people - price for our lives and freedom
The full demographic loss to the Soviet peoples was even greater: since a high proportion of those killed were young men of child-begetting age, the postwar Soviet population was 45 to 50 million smaller than post-1939 projections would have led one to expect

Almost EVERY family in post USSR republics lost someone in Great Patriotic War

Eternal Memory to Heroes

It's good to remember all the world's heroes lost in the war, @Chili_Pepper.

But quickly please try to bridge your post to something in ESO ... before your thread is locked for being off-topic.

It is not a victory. War never ends with a victory.

All this day brought was more death and a new extreme regime.

You just don't understand that this thread is not about politics, its about people who sacrificed their lives for our future, doesn't matter which nationality you are, because thanks to them we will never know the future of the world if fas cism won.

OP, it is really bad idea to create such threads on game forums. If you want to honor those heroes, do it IRL, and not on site where majority of players don't know much of WW2 other then from movies and games of last decades.

Guys, you are really clueless if you write such things. I won't even send you to academic history books, wikipedia will be more then enough.
TL;DR - Adolph H. (his second name is censored on this site) and his allies wanted to exterminate or make slaves of many nations and races, actually majority of them. And USSR was main contributor in preventing this and paid a very high price for it. This is not a holiday of a Stalin or of communism, it is holiday of ordinary people who made it possible. And you are just spitting on millions of graves when writing something about "this day brought more death"...

Martini round it up well. A day to honor of those who fought against the Nazis.

Identically red guards pushed against the racist high elves after the imperials surrendered? I mean, it will happen in hundreds of years... Ok ye I am grasping at straws.

USSR destroyed one dictatorship and replaced it with another. Bravo...

I'm glad that H. was defeated, but detest the self-glorification by the op. Certainly very misplaced in a gaming forum.

Respect goes to the US, UK and france, for not only defeating H., but liberating germany.

Well, if you would like to know: check out "The man in the high castle", but ignore all of that parallel universe travel nonsense though.

who has started this mess? If you hit someone, you risk getting a bloody nose.
I assume you talk about Dresden and Hamburg. (and not about the 2 cities in Japan, that were really nuked, an assault that was out of proportion and imho one of the worst crimes of this century).

(and just to be clear: I grew up close to Hamburg, but nevertheless think that the escalation of the war by germany left the allied forces not much other choice in order to break the pride, unity and ultra-nationalism of the german people at that time).
