If you tightly circle the dragon, he doesn't get any hits on you and can only try to hit you with his powers? Is Sai tanking? Or is the dragon turning too slowly to use his regular attacks on you?
My crafter lowbie was using only Soul Trap and Strife. Pretty sure Strife couldn't (shouldn't?) have kept up enough heals to keep up with a dragon.
