What happened to class passive audit?

I thought this was the update that was supposed to restore class identity with a class passive audit, what happened to that?

I believe that they mentioned restoring class identity as a future plan in their biased Q&A post:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/490953/u23-combat-q-a/p1

Although they did mention behind the scenes combat ability improvements in the performance improvements timeline graphic.

I guess performance improvements means nerf hammering the changes they made last patch to make the game even more unappealing.

That’s right, passive changes are coming. More future patches to dread.

I think the community has successfully stopped the class passive audit. It looks like the dev team did not understand what they were doing to the classes by auditing everything and making everything virtually the same. Doing this with the passives would have pretty much been the nail in the coffin. If all passives are equal then no point in having classes at all. I think they underestimated the impact of having classes be cosmetic. I believe they have see the impact in loss subscriptions, few gaming hours played, and terrible state the forums are in. How could you continue to ignore this? So they have now realized they need to do something and fast so they have had to change strategy and address the mess that has been made.

Of course I don't know any of it first hand, but it totally makes sense. It was BALANCE CLASSES, IT WAS BALANCE SKILLS, IT WAS NERF UNIQUE ABILITIES so everyone plays the same, then the plan was to be BALANCE CLASS PASSIVES, all that is left. And now we here nothing about passive balance, hopefully this is an indication we making a difference. Its just a shame it had to go to such an extreme.

Well I hope they make kahjiit better because mine is currently useless for PvP. I sacrificed a lot for the extra crit chance back in the day but the way it sits now it is just so much worse than all options other than role play (which I do not do).

They basically changed "Passive Audit" to "Class Identity" somewhere along the way.

Since the Class Identity was actually just one or two skill changes, I wouldn't expect nothing more than one of two passives changed either if that still happens.

Recently Blizzard said that it was a mistake to standardize the classes and therefore I guess that ZOS will stop with this madness as well (since every MMO just copies whatever WoW is doing during the past decade). I doubt that we will ever see the passive overhaul (and tbh, I don't even want to see a passive overhaul at this point).
I used to think that PvP was a tragedy, but now I realize, it's a comedy.

They changed from passive audit to class identity because the community finally spoke so loud they could not ignore us. And thank goodness if they had continued auditing the last part of distinction between the classes there would have been little reason for hardcore fantasy gamers to continue playing.

The current class identity is yes just a couple of skill changes but I think that's all they have had time to come up with given they've had such a short period of time. Remember they were likely working on passive audit, were blind sided by player reaction and had to quickly drop that work and begin working on identity. They also said this is just a stop gap until they can do real identity work. The current work isn't enough to bring me back and probably not for a lot of others but it is enough to provide hope for future updates and maybe to curtail the departures.

Honestly, I think calling it one or another doesn't really matter.

What we are seeing now was their plan all along, no matter what name was given to it.

I was so disappointed with how shallow that "class identity rework" was that I don't even care what they say they will audit or rework next. I know it will just be one or two skills or passives here and there every 3 months instead of an actual, meaningful thing.

Simply OP... ZoS decided it was better to build the roof before the walls.

Passives should have been the first thing they touched, then skills. Now we are stagnated with patches that redo everything done 3 months ago.

Sarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly

I was born with the wrong sign
    In the wrong house
    With the wrong ascendancy
    I took the wrong road
That led to the wrong tendencies
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time
For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme
On the wrong day of the wrong week
Used the wrong method with the wrong technique
