Good observation but I do not think the OP cares. They are probably just venting as it seems pretty clear it would be a poor business decision to double the number of servers from 6 to 12 which is exactly what the idea would require.

And if they did do a campaign reverted back (they will not because it would have to be a separate server) who gets to decide which patch they go back to? Different players on different characters have different ideas about when the game was at its best.

No it is not a separate server, it is a separate instance on the same server. If it were a separate server you wouldn't be able to take a character there from any other zone. There are two servers for PC and two each for the consoles. To do what you ask they would need to add three more servers.

That isn't going to happen.

And we still have the problem of who decides how far to roll back. No matter where they would roll back to they would alienate the majority of their players.

it's hypothetical, and to pull it off we wouldn't know the extent or measures they would need to go to. unless that is, if you work for them? doubt it

I know it couldn't be on the same server. Well, it could but running two entirely different games (and that is what this would be) on one server makes zero sense.

And you still haven't said who gets to choose the roll back point.
