Make class ultimates deal dmg based on highest offencive stat, like soultrap..

How hard would that be to code? Cant be that hard since soultrap already does.
It would open up much more versatility in each class' usable ultimates. Imagine a stamsorc with Supression Field that deals physical or poison dmg, or a stamdk with Shifting Standard that deals poison dmg, or a stambalde with Veil of Blades dealing physical dmg etc etc.

would be nice for sure. but then, many morphs that already have a stam/mag morph would need a rework too. this would be some extra job they may not like..

I have a different idea : change elemental expert and mighty to increase damage who scale on magicka/stamina stat. It would open all ultimate for all spec, but also help the few skill that scale on both side. And it would give the possibility to freely bring back some physical elements for mag classes and magicka elements for stam classes.

TL;DR These kinds of changes to games tends to lead to other changes with the same effect, eventually everything looks and feels the same, and the game loses it's personality, and eventually it's playerbase.

The developers of the card game, gwent, 'streamlined' the stats of each faction's cards in a similar way, to make things more straightforward for a vocal portion of the population that they thought the game's rules were overly complicated. The devs simplified things, and those people asked for more of the same, and the devs listened. Eventually there wasn't a point in playing a specific faction, because even though each faction looked different aesthetically, the only strategy to win was by outing the most power on the table.

Prior to that, each faction had it's own way of utilizing different aspects of the rules of the game to gain an advantage that was unique to them; this is how it should be, it leaves room for variety.

In the end CD Projekt Red apologized for listening to the portion of the player base that was willing to spend more money on loot boxes, but weren't as committed to the game as, what they called, core players. The vocal players would join for a short time, spend some cash, complain about the game, it would change, but they would still leave. So CD Projekt Red committed to the core players, and completely remade the game, announcing the launch would be in 6 months, rather than the next few weeks.

They went back to the model of each faction having unique traits and abilities, where balance could be found somewhere in-between by the players. It was pretty cool of them to do that, most companies just let things go on broken, and the game limps along for years until it finally dies.

Now, having a combination of stats used to strengthen abilities is a whole different ball game, and I don't know why they haven't done that already.

Not their damage type. Soultrap does magic damage if your magicka is higher, stamina if your stam.
    Same for burning light procs.

Ultimates still do the same type of damage and scale with the respective CPs like ele expert etc.

This. Ultimates currently dont change their dmg types based on highest stat. On nocp this is of no consequence, but on cp it makes quite the difference.

And with cp changing at some point, the entire issue may fix itself. We'll have to see what they have in store for cp. This sort of thing is just one of many effects that a change to cp can cause. It will be a rather large metagame shift when it happens.

That could and most likely wont even happen during 2020(games roadmap). So its potentially years away.

I think some ults should be magicka or stamina scaled only personally. This encourages you to play different styles for different purposes, instead of playing stam or mag because it's meta and having the exact same tools.

Of course this isn't even true nowadays, magblades used to use Incap for the stun even with the damage loss, since ults does in fact scale with your highest resource, they just don't change the damage type.

Nah, I hope they delete CP instead of doubling down on it. Without CP and just straight up class passives, we'd have much more interesting build diversity that you get to see in BG. You no longer feel like you're nerfing yourself because you're missing out on +11% damage, 20% crit damage, 4k pen, etc.

I really hope they're considering giving that CP power back to the classes at this point, because it would make the choice of your abilities more meaningful and ultimate's wouldn't need this Dynamic Scaling to function. For example, delete CP, boost Sorc's +5% Physical Damage and +5% Shock damage to +10%. Maybe Sorc's will start using more Shock based abilities and Staves, especially if Spell Crafting is introduced. Making them stand out as their given identity as wielders of Lightning damage instead of what we have now, every class plays practically the same.

I like the idea of giving ults dynamic scaling on the damage type, but I doubt they'll ever do it because they seem to like making useless morphs in to Magicka/Stamina specific instead of play-style specific..

I'd also rather see Crit and Penetration balanced as 1 stat, with Magicka/Stamina and Weapon/Spell Damage remaining as unique stats with the potential introduction of a Healer specific stat, but we kind of have that with Healing Done %. Mundus/Weapon Traits already give Crit/Pen at the same time, but we have Set traits only giving 1 at a time. A couple monster sets double down on their 1 piece crit stat too.

Defending/Sharpened have the same values, but set bonuses treat penetration as half and there is no monster set that gives double pen.

Well. that part seems to already be underway. It would make sense that Zos is looking into it since they are currently testing Soul Trap that way. Speaking logically ofc.

They already stated it was under investigation when they halted CP cap increases at 810. What better time to introduce a new system then on the 2020 Chapter release. It's a huge push for brand new players, from ZOS's pov, they wouldn't want to start new players off with a system like CP in it's current state if they plan on redoing it entirely.

I guarantee they've given themselves that chapter release as their deadline, it's just a question of if they can manage to meet it.
