no more sound on laptop

I suddenly have no longer sound on my laptop - from one moment to the other
- the volume is on 100%; nothing is muted
- the volume also shows "playing" when running a video but i dont hear anything
- I have reset the playback device, disabled all enhancements
- updated audio drivers automatically and afterwards also manually
- de- and reactivated audio devices
- uninstalled and reinstalled audio devices
- de- and reactived audio services in windwos services

nothing has helped so im kinda out of ideas by now??

I had this issue before i had to get motherboard and sound card replaced

Boot something else to rule out Windows, then if it is still silent, it is probably the board.

Also, if you have external DP/HDMI monitor _without_ speakers, check it is not marked as playback device.
