How are people getting most of their motifs, finding them, as rewards, how?

I have been searching crates, baskets, wardrobes, desks, pretty much anything I can open for the last 4 weeks and have not found one motif.

When the game was first released it was common to find the main “blue” race ones but I haven’t even come across these lately and I have never found a rare “purple” one. And like I said I have been going out of my way lately trying to find them but nothing!

    Depends on which motif you're looking for. I think there's over 60 different styles at this point. Some only come from stuff like pickpocketing (Houses in vvardenfell), Undaunted quests (mercenary), dungeon drops, etc. You can also buy the purple ones like ancient elf, for next to nothing, or free in guild banks.
