Time to do something about undaunted chests?

So undaunted dlc chest is getting up there in drops. Were currently at 10 different shoulders that can drop in 3 different armor types. If I'm doing the math right that's a 3.3% chance lol completely ignoring trait type which i left out because we can transmute it. With the 2 new dungeons were up to 12 shoulders in 3 different armor types, 36 drops with a 2.7% chance. Later this year we get 2 more dungeons with 6 more drops to that. We have even had @ZOS_RobGarrett agree that something needs to be done eventually about the dlc chests. Zos your doing alot of QoL changes this patch anyway, why not add a fix for this and square it away now too?

The 2 other chests are also a 2.7% chance also again without traits. Why not do something about those too. That chance to get something that you can even use seems really low imo.

Personally I'd like to see something were head and shoulders both can drop from bosses. That's like a 16% chance to get something you need which seems alot more fair and rewarding against a 2.7% pretty much random odd

    I would love an token system and one undaunted merchant who sells all the set pieces for the mentioned tokens obviously the better traits would be more expensive but overall I think that would perfectly fit as well as reduce the unnecessary rng.

    One key = Random shoulder like we currently have.

    Fives keys = Let us pick which shoulder piece we want in the weight that we want.

    This means it would cost 5 dungeon runs to get the shoulder piece that we want in the armor weight that we want. I think that's about fair.

    That's a nice compromise. It would feel like we're working towards a goal, and would probably take the average player 3-5 days to accomplish (if doing normal mode dungeons every day) to get the exact piece they want.

    I could get behind that 1-5-10 system because it seems fair and balanced. Even if it was 10-15-20 it would still be better than what we have now in my opinion. Then I'd be guaranteed to have what I want in a reasonable time period. Unlike spending 350+ keys for my one and only Zaan shoulder piece (wrong weight and awful trait).

    I agree that the Undaunted chest RNG is horrendous.

    I also agree with having this token system where you can use 1-5-10 keys to get closer to the set piece you are wanting.

    Can we just remove all the RNG loot systems in the game and provide a better progression system...

    I dont mind slow progression, just slow progression tied to heavily to RNG that you can do a days worth of grinding and not even be guaranteed ANY actual progress.

    I have been saying for years now that something needs to be done about RNG in the gear grind. Just because "thats how its always done in MMOs" is an awful reason to keep it that way. It shouldn't be such a big factor in getting gear. I love this game but I work a full time job and as an example it took me an entire year to get the Caluurion's Ice staff i needed for my warden, and there were several weekends where i spent 6+ hours running fang lair and had NOTHING to show for it at the end of the day. I think all dungeons should have a merchant with that dungeon's gear available for tokens you get either by completing the dungeon, or by trading in unwanted gear from that run.

    I wish they would go back to shoulder drops from normal, head drops on vet. Make the keys choose exactly what you want, put any cost of keys you want. Something better than complete RNG would help. Even do something else with the keys, make undaunted vendor to sell items only obtained with keys, preferably shoulder and helm pieces.

    Right now I carry too many shoulder and some head pieces in storage in the event I may need them when if I could just run the dungeon again on normal and get the piece I wanted. Maybe not the weight but hopefully someone in group would get the weight I was looking for.
