What vet maelstrom weapons are desired?

I am in the process of starting to grind vma with the ultimate 2019 goal to get flawless conc om my stam dk. What weapons and traits are desired, for all classes? I plan to get them all!

Maelstrom Bow, Destruction Staff and Restoration Staff are most commonly used. Maelstrom Bow goes on all stamina damage dealer builds in PvE and the Destruction Staff goes on all the magicka damage dealer builds for pve. Restoration staff is used on some PvP builds.

Currently INFUSED trait is the most desired one, but I would keep all anyway because you never know when things change.

Bow and destro are really the only two must have weapons, but I would just keep at least one of every type if you drop them anyway. Maybe they will become good at some point and then you don't need to go back in.

Bows and destros for sure pve dps. Resto is sometimes used in pve and pvp

Honestly just keep at least 2 of everything just in case things change

Thanks for clearing that up. Is inferno better than lightning or are they basically the same?

Are you really the same alcsst that makes all these guides and videos? Man ive been Reading your guides and checking out your stuff for over a year now. You got me i to this whole thing of optimising a character build, which is now my primary motivator when it comes to that side of the game. Just wanted to say your work is appriciated!

Thats a good idea. Things might chsnge next patch. When you say desto, is it all the same to use fire or lightning Staff or are there some Basic differences and advantages in one of those?

I am sure Alcast and others can provide a better answer.

They are not the same for multiple reasons. Fire improves single target damage as well as the WoE can do more damage when burning is applied to the target. Lightning provides better AoE damage and can provide concussion but there are other sources for that.

Fire is most often used in end game. However, you can pull off shock with a sorc due to the class buff to shock damage and probably more appropriate if you are doing a pet sorc with the volatile familiar since pretty much everything would be AoE in that case.

Regardless, good to keep at least one of each.

I run maelstrom Inferno backbar in pve and resto backbar pvp. I can't say the resto staff is overly good but it just makes it easy for me to swap it out and change a couple of skills when I drop in and out of PvP.

I love the long term player attitude.... Keep everything, you never know what will be good in upcoming patches.

I have a set of pretty much every trial set in the game and I'm afraid to decon it because you never know what is going to happen.

Destro and bow are must-have. I like backbarring the restro in PvP. Save at least one set of everything else you get in case a change makes it good.
