Resorting to personal insults now, are we?
Firstly, I wouldn't have said it if you were actually reading what you were commenting on. And secondly, how is it different from what you said?Dont_do_drugs wrote: »I wish there was a super power that turned all women who said this into men for a week, then they would find out how good they actually have it and would stop complaining. oh yeh, i feel really good beeing reduced to girly clichees, getting flirted and sexualized at work, every day - in 2 of 4 worklplaces i have been - or getting compliments on my bbs, getting asked to wear more girly stuff, getting even told from my family to wear more girly stuff. i find it really nice, that people care, wether i get a baby and tell me that my clock is ticking and that i - for genetical reasons - will be sad not having babies. i love getting reduced as person who isnt able to do some repairings in the house, not beeing able to change hardware in my pc and getting touched unasked onn private parts. i also love having worse chances for job promos. its so good to be a woman and we are treated so much better than men, because men hold me doors open and men want to pay my dinner when going out for a date - even tho i am able to pay myself. yes, sir, yes.
As someone that lived as a woman 4 more years than Norah Vincent lived as a guy, I was going to respond but I’ll defer to your experience.
Well, here is the view of someone who has lived as both a woman and a man longer than you have lived as a woman.Dont_do_drugs wrote: »I wish there was a super power that turned all women who said this into men for a week, then they would find out how good they actually have it and would stop complaining. Complaining about being "sexualized" to someone who has to work hard to get anything more than condescending or suspicious looks is akin to a fat American complaining to a starving sub-Saharan child that the number of food choices they have are oppressing them and destroying their health.
Your problem is that you get too many compliments, and people remind you that you can't wish biology away? Damn, I wish I was such a celebrity that that's all I had to worry about, people giving me compliments. The part about home and PC repairs is entirely irrelevant, it's equivalent to women saying that men can't clean the house or wash dishes. Getting touched by private parts happens to men too. And that you have a lower chance of being hired is just a blatant lie.
And no, women don't have it better than men for having doors held open, they have it better than men because..
- They get milder prison sentences for the same crimes
- They almost always get to keep custody of their children in case of a divorce
- If they don't get custody of their children, they still aren't forced under threat of imprisonment to pay child support
- There are countless programs to help women in need (domestic violence shelters etc.)
- Duluth model, because screw due process
- 5 years longer life expectancy
- 3x lower suicide rate, because of course it's the "privileged" ones that would kill themselves
- 3x lower homelessness rate
- Much higher spending on gender specific medical research
And many more things that I couldn't think of from the top of my head. Compared to all this, what you listed are literal 1st world problems.

off topic - another number which i am curious about is the percentage of ps4, xbox and pc - there have been some statistics, in 2015 - but i really want refreshed ones. as example. numbers and statistics are awesome #no creepy stalker

I don't want to derail the thread too much but I doubt, at my age, that they have lived as long as a guy as I have. I feel for that person's struggles and there is something to be said about the "man up" attitude that can cause bottled up emotional difficulties for men that end in suicide. My own personal opinion is that living as a man, even if that is primarily an act for me, is easier than living as a woman. I was happy as a woman but I was constantly treated a bit like a child, like I needed assistance or help all the time, and there were plenty of guys that acted that way towards me and other women. I'm not happy living as a guy but, so long as I know and remember the "rules", I'm left alone to live my life.

waow. i dont know what to say. i never read something that ridiculous. beeing jealous of people, which arent taken for serious, because they have breast, which get molested, just because of ur own low self esteem - i am speechless. its even ridiculous, u think it has something to do with "good looks" to get molested or downgraded at work. having breasts has nothing to do with good looks. jealous for 5 years longer life while beeing downgraded most time of the life with a higher chance, comparing suicidal rates while on the other hand WAY MORE women are in psychological treatment for depression, borderline (often after sexual abuse) or panic disorders and even bringing up the divorce question, even tho the problem isnt on the juristical side, but on gender stereotypes which are taken on by the parents themselves (in the western countries).
i never read something that stupid.
