Cheating/exploiting

Is taking a scroll to the enemy cheating. This person is taking ep scrolls to the enemy groups. Here's the clip. [edited to remove naming and shaming]

It's very frustrating for those who actually put in the work to capture a scroll. Is this cheating or not. Using alliance swapping to gain an advantage seems like an exploit at the very least.

Depends if that player uses bow ulti or not.

Also you should remove the gt from the post because it will just be closed for naming and shaming.

Finally in answer to your question i seem to remember zos saying that its not cheating however they have taken action for dropping scrolls in slaughterfish/lava repeatedly before so who knows.

Thanks for the input guys. Hopefully we can get clarification on this from a ZOS rep. @ZOS_Wrobel

If this is intended and they are technically "spies" then we should have a mark as spy option to be able to kill said player. ZoS is about creating more counter play. How do we counter that which we cannot kill. I sincerely want to know? @ZOS_Wrobel

I would argue, that ZoS have already said it IS cheating. This is exploiting known as "AP Boosting". Whilst it is different from flipping keeps over and over, or dueling near resources, it clearly is an attempt to boost AP/Score via methods not intended.

Ok it looks like a Pact guy carrying a Covenent scroll right into a herd of Dominion......

Without seeing where he picked that up and where he was headed the vid doesn't really show anything.
I get that you may have seen this behaivior from this guy before, so i'm not doubting you, but you should know that as far as evidence this does not contain enough to be solid proof..
    Ummm stuff… about stuff…or something.

True. I just happened to be next to him and catch him in the act on the way to sewers. He grabbed the scroll from an unflagged keep somehow. But your point is valid I can see how a rep would see this and not know what is going on. Hopefully this person realizes they are under the microscope and quit while they are ahead.

It is not cheating or exploiting, it cannot be labelled as such because the strategic validity of a scroll take/capture is not objective, and no-one has the authority to assume motive. Some cases are more clear cut than others obviously and some decisions a scroll carrier makes are going to be dumb, but ultimately those decisions belong solely to the carrier. If you think you know what is best for the scroll, then you should be the one to get it, it's that simple.

It could be the strategically superior move to take a scroll back to the faction it belongs to, it could be smarter to take it to the 3rd faction. If I steal DC's scroll and take it to AD you don't know that I didn't broker a deal with AD to cease aggression against my faction for the next X hours, you just don't know so you can't have a definitive ruling and say it's cheating or even traitorous.

This has been happening since launch and the only issue that was ever looked at was dropping it in slaughter-fish/lava, so no giving to the enemy in no way violates the terms of service.

Greetings. As outlined in our forum rules, we do not allow for naming and shaming. This includes individuals who may be cheating or exploiting in game. We ask that you provide any screenshots or videos in a report ticket so that our team can review it. Taking to the forums to publicly shame an individual, will only jeopardize your own account. Thank you for your understanding.
