Very unlikely this is true, as it would land both the creator and ZoS in quite a bit of hot water as it's required by law to disclose endorsements when reviewing products (in the US).Hortator Indoril Nerevar wrote: »I get the feeling ZOS gives content creators free crowns/crates to do opening videos/streams.

Alcast is a popular channel and streaming site, so it's more likely he purchased the crates with his own money.
There's a significant difference between re-investing earnings into your platform and using sponsored content.
Most creators know to scale their productions to their budgets. So in the absence of the "includes paid promotion" notification, it's either that the creator feels that spending $X on a piece of content is beneficial in some way to their overall bottom line or they've decided that $X is just an acceptable amount of hobby income to spend.

I personally dont see anything wrong with that either but I have never heard the content creators say they have got anything for free (possibly because they didn't). I wanted to see if anyone else has thought this and what your opinions are. I bring this up because Alcast did a $500 crate opening on stream/youtube and I think it was on NA and not even EU.
Anyways like I said I dont think its bad if they do get free crowns/crates to do it but I have iffy feelings about it if they dont mention it to the people watching.
I have no problem with Alcast and the opening video was entertaining. Just thought I would cut off the "you are just a hater" comments before they happen.
If any officials from ZOS could either confirm or deny this that would be cool

This really shouldn't be a vote. It's not an opinion. Either people know something or they don't. Blobs would know as well as anyone. But who cares if they did? Game devs give things out to popular streamers all the time. If you want free stuff, become a big streamer or YouTuber. GL.

Surely he was joking if he said that. I could see them giving crowns and crates away so people make content on the crates and maybe seeing that will bring in some money for ZOS but to raise the chances for the stream? Surely not. Maybe he was joking?

I believe he was saying that the chance of getting crates from watching was increased. Not his drop chances of items in the crates.

Yes certain content creators get special perks like a limited amount of crowns, crown store items(dlcs) and even chapters. I know this cause i am one of them. You can find me on twitch by the same as my forum name. Myself and most of the others who are part of the sponsored ESO twitch streamer program have been very open about this. Certain content creators also receive more stuff then others. Non of this is secret information nor is it meant to be hush-hush. Also the amount of stuff they give us to for personal use is tiny in comparison to the amount of stuff they are giving us to giveaway to help push the game.
LOL. like a forum poll can answer the question.

He didn't say anything about a change in the drop rate. The increase would come from the longer duration of the stream. You'd have 23 more hours of a chance reward relative to a 1 hour stream.
