Has anyone received any Pyandonean/Maomer Motif pages, or books from fishing yet?

Nothing so far, got the all the fish there is to catch in summerset, had several bottles along the way but 0 motifs so far. Getting the new artaeum recipes was easy (took around 100 worms) compared to find the motifs, at least for me.

I got a 20-25 bottles while fishing to get the angler achievement, which took a while due to the foul water holes being so rare. One contained the chests page, while the others only had the style material, along with some random low value materials, usually glyphs. Since fishing is so tedious, and the drop rate is so low I'd rather buy the rest once the prices go down a bit. I checked the page in MM before I learned it and the average price was under 100K - chests is usually the most expensive - so I expect to grab the others for well under 50K a piece later.

i got my first pyandonean motif in about an hour of fishing on the 2nd bottle, pyandonean staves. one of the luckiest drops ever for me in game, my main is a magsorc and it looks amazing

That is the only useful thing to come out of the crown crates we were just given. I got the hat page and maces page. It used to be that you got an entire book of the motif.

I fished here and there while questing during Summerset story. Pulled maybe 10 bottles prior to today, and zero motif pages.

Today I put my first serious effort into it. I was lucky enough to get both the fish bowl recipe, and the gold Psijic stamina/health recipe as well, this morning in Arteum.

I then popped the fish bowl food and spent 2 hours fishing across Summerest. I did not count how many bottles I pulled, but it seemed to be about 1 bottle every 2-3 fishing holes. And from that that, I managed to pull Pyandonean Belts, and that was it for pages today.

I don't know if the fish bowl food has any impact on your chances to pull a bottle, or just rare fish only.

I have gotten 1 from fishing, maybe out of 10-12 bottles, but I haven't done all that much fishing so far in Summerset.

Someone made the comparison to nirncrux. If they used the same code, it's a timer/cooldown where you usually get a couple of nirncrux in the first 10 or so harvests and then nothing for a period of time.

not true, once looked in, the bottle becomes bound and can not be sold.

That was NOT the case, until an incremental patch fixed it. :-)

Well I've gotten bottles both while fishing alone, and while fishing with other players. But there may be a grain of truth in that, if they coded them in the same probability pool as trophy fishes, with the sub-probability for the latter being a function of the number of players fishing. Anecdotally, fishing in other zones (I'm trying to finally get Master Angler done) I've noticed that you get much more gunny sacks while fishing alone, as opposed to fishing with someone, and you also less get less trophy fishes. So they do seem to be coded like that. If the bottles in Summerset and satchels in Arthaeum replace gunny sacks in the loot table for those locations and the probability is coded in the same way, than it makes sense that fishing alone will beget more bottles, as opposed to trophy fishes.

Yep 4 so far (from about 50 bottles). Possibly a coincidence but 48 of the 50 bottles came from sea fishing (spent an equal amount of time on sea/river/lake) and got zero bottles from fishing Arteum.

My original complaint about this was that motifs would skew the rare fish.

ZoS must have realized this as well and countered the action. It's one of the "easier" rare spots in the game now.

2 pages of motifs picked up, which for an average in other fishing rares, is very good.

I am not disappointed, except for the fact that finding a fishing spot is a bit rarer as some of you have picked up poles.

No big issue. The more the merrier.

I'm up to 217 bottles giving me:

- 22 motif pages / 195 sea serpent hide
- 51 Clam Gall
- 48 Powdered Mother of Pearl

I always fish on my own but of course in Summerset often people join at some holes along the way, still most of this was solo fishing.

For drop rates per bait I get (based on around 2000 throws) :

- 87.5% white fish
- 6.9% green fish
- 0.85% blue fish
- 3.75% bottles

If your husband got the page through crown crates then it is not a bug. Crown crate motifs are bound. If your husband got it via fishing, that would be another story.

You can tell by the description, "Crown Crafting Motif..."

Actually that is not true. Once you look into the bottle you cannot sell it on the guild trader. FYI

I got the pyandonean staffs months ago which at the time was like gold dust. I think i found one on the US server for upwards of 50k. I got two other pieces too which i can't remember as i stored them. My brother and friend got a chapter each but not sure which ones. Have fished for a couple days now but haven't got another one even though I've been through about 25 bottles so not sure if I'm just unlucky or the rate has been lowered since i last fished in summerset.
