They went down at 1 am pacific. So far, "maintenance" has been nine hours long.I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
3) Difficulty slider.
4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.0 -

Actually the servers went down at 0100 EDT. Thus making the maintenance lasting for 12.5 hours now.0 -

haha yea I have the same message when I try to log in. I assumed it was because I was continually trying to log in throughout this maintenance and the server has decided it hates me.

As of noon EDT, we are currently looking at a maintenance completion ETA of 1-2 hours.

Darquer✭✭✭I presume the Permissions error (which is recent) is because the server is up for a limited, internal, testing group. It is an indication that we may be close. Based on the update at noon EST, and as @DeadAgainX alludes, perhaps we will be up within the next 25 minutes.1
