why would the helmets be made without horns if that's how they are historically in the TES universe?

If TES Nord helmets are supposedly based on irl Vikings and Germanic tribes, they are mistakenly using opera helmets instead of realistic/more historical ones. The Aldmeri heavy helms somewhat resemble old Polish Hussar helms, some of which had wings up the sides:

For the ones with horns, Draugr is probably the best and closest to that style. But, yes, the winged helms and also the ones with the rings around the eyes are the real classic Norse helms:

yes that is an real viking helmet, horns was an 19th century invention. Lots of 19th century junk science became modern memes.
Now as I understand the Celtics used horned helmets and even the Romans used decorative helmets to show rank,
Decorative features is not an huge issue if they break if hit by an sword, they are an issue if they direct the trust into your eye :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

To the best knowledge of this one the helmet below is the only horned one found - and it is thought is only decorative and would have been totally useless in a conflict situation.

Any female viking costumes should be good to "turn happy the sight" just saying.

true too, and more imprortantly, female viking hairstyles.

I remember watching an archeology program where they showed beautifully carved old Viking combs, looks like she might have lost hers.

Khajiit knows someone who owns this yes

    https://www.wulflund.com/jewellery/bronze-historical-jewels-/viking-age-bronze-comb-denmark.html/

Also perhaps one or two or three other sweet shiny things from the same store …

Combs were indeed very important to the Vikings and other European cultures before them. The untamed, uncombed, uncivilised 'barbarian' is largely an invention of those terrible Romans - tricksy Imperials!

Thanks for all the suggestions! More viking-like costumes, including more fur and hide themed items or motifs, definitely sounds like a lot of fun. We can imagine the awesome outfits that you all could make with armor like these, unfortunately, we can't promise these suggestions will be used, but we really appreciate that you took the time to share your ideas and feedback.

There use to be skyrim outfits way back before morriwind. But now it’s not in the crown store anymore.
But let’s see if there would be dlc for west province of skyrim. Then we will see more Viking outfits.

    Yes, I've even purchased them.

But they are not the real viking outfits. They look... too fancy asian anime.

You know that the nords are technically Vikings but little different in culture and gods. Nord outfits and armor are the closest look for Vikings. Some races have Vikings look but it’s like a combination of sort.

It sounded like people were suggesting they should mimic IRL styles instead of have their own, TES style. I understand being inspired by IRL cultures, but not mimicking them exactly.

The AD/polish helmet thing is cool though, I've never seen someone else mention that before.

I'd rather see something similar to what the Anglo-Saxons used to wear. We have enough vikings and one too many Ragnars as it is. How about something related to their British settler cousins?
