And lots of gold stolen!

This is very upsetting.

It was a pretty complicated password. I also asked my guild friends if they gave out my password to anyone and they all said "no'. So this is obviously ZOS's fault and negligence. I truly hope ZOS restores my stolen gold and my stolen faith.

You gave your password to your guild friends? Oh boy.

Why would you think it is ZOS's fault. Not seeing how they could be at fault. You said you gave your password out to guild friends. That is most likely the source. Sorry that you lost a lot of gold however.

Giving your password away can get u banned for account sharing.

Consider yourself happy if u just lost a bit of gold. Account getting "hacked" usually means everything u owned got sold to npc, all your gold and valuables transfered to hackers account and all your chars deleted.

If you gave your password to your guild then that's where to look , not ZoS .

I bet that's really upsetting. I'd be pretty upset if that happened to me.

But I'm not sure that ZOS is the one you should be losing faith in.

ZOS probably can restore your lost items, but you do need to practice better account security on your end. Otherwise, you might find your returned gold and items going missing. I suggest starting with not handing your password out to your guild friends.

A password may as well be "12345" if you're going to give it out. Ironically, a complicated password would likely be written down at some point, typed our durring transfer, and saved as plain text. Those are numerous points of vulnerability you created for your account.

Giving your password to anyone is against the Terms of Service, and can lead to account action including banning.

Don't blame ZOS for this. You gave your password out to people.

Sad to say, but you got what you deserved. Maybe next time you'll think twice before you hand out your password.

Like, all of it, I would assume?

Or did they leave you grocery money?

Because this sounds like thieves breaking into your house, but taking the time to put your laundry in the dryer between robbing you blind.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.
