Sure enough they made it collected now, not mentioned in the patch notes of 3.3.3

That is cool you can use it at the outfitter station or in your appearance settings when you hit U and go to helms.

That is only a preview, you can not make permanent changes unless you are at a Outfitter Station.

So the only way to change back an forth with or without a helm is to have two outfits made, unless it's only the helm that is changed.

So for those that like to change back an forth they will cut down to effectively 5 costumes if the want to wear a helm and not wear one at times.

Still no hide helm option any other way which is rather silly as it id no cost to add the hide a helm. But there is the cost in that it takes a Outfit Slot to use it, so there is a cost. IMHO that is a deceptive and bad business practice to have a hidden cost on a previous totally free option in a game and it is now also limited in it's use.

If you could use the collections to apply the hide helm on the fly without using a outfit slot then this would be different.

You can do this? Hide your helm is in the collections tab under hats. The only thing it doesn't work with anymore is polymorphs unfortunately.

Yes, it is in the hats tab, but requires you to use a outfit slot at an Outfitter Station to create a Outfit with that feature. So for each look you wish to have with and without a helm then you have to create another outfit for each. Thus requiring you to spend crowns to get the extra outfit slots. Having only ten slots places a limit as well.

If all you want to do is to hide your helm, you have to make an outfit.

Where as before you could toggle helm at will, with no limits. As you pointed out it also worked with polymorphs.

They need to add back in a toggle for the helm to keep the full functionality instead of taking a step backwards. Any other pieces that would be hidden would be fine to use an Outfit slot and makes some sense as well.

Are you sure that's the case? I'm capable of "wearing" the hide-your-helm from the hat section of the collections, the same spot as cadwell's pot and the midyear crown, among others

That the hide helm is now available actually IS mentioned in the patch notes ;)

Also, there are two things. One is an Outfit piece called "Hide Helm". This one can be used for outfits only. The second one is a hat collectible to be found under your collections > appearance > hats (the same category, where e.g. the masks from the ingame holiday festivals can be equiped). This one will hide head gear from costumes, outfits and normal armour, like any other hat. And since it's a collectible hat you can also quickslot it, if you want.

You can't hide the headgear of polymorphs or disguises (the ones you find ingame for quests) anymore. But for that they are looking into ways to fix this, just maybe not before this patch goes live.

@Grimm13 that is not the case. You can create all 10 outfits and just use the "Hide Helmet " hat in your collections menu AT ANY TIME to remove your helmet slot either while wearing outfits costumes or normal gear. The only time this doesn't work is with polymorphs (but please ZOS reimplement this in some way)

The hide helmet in the hats section of collections is the successor function to the removed helmet toggle in settings. It is independent of outfits. The hide helmet in outfits is for hiding helmet in that specific outfit only. I do think they are redundant since you can just equip/unequip the hide helmet item in collections anyways.

It is odd that zos decided to remove the existing hide helmet functionality that worked instead of building on it. I do agree that losing hide helmet on polymorphs and disguises is a step back and I hope it gets rectified soon. But saying that you have to make a new outfit to hide helmet is not totally true.

My apologies, I totally missed that they added the Hide Helm as a Hat Costume in the collections.

I was looking at the Outfit Styles which is only a preview. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. The new functionality is different and probably have others making the same mistake.
