Me Too

There's a big social media campaign out that is called "Me Too" and it brings to light the experience of women who have experienced violence, harassment and worse.

How many times have we seen and heard women get harassed or bullied while playing ESO? The things that are said and written in public chat, or even in our guild and group voice chats...they become unsafe for a lot of women, and sure, some laugh it off, but that's because they love the game and "that's just the gaming world".

Even in the forums or during ESO Live I have spotted times when people said something inappropriate towards @ZOS_GinaBruno and @ZOS_JessicaFolsom.

I'm not sure what this post can other than bring light to this kind of stuff, but all i can say is that I love this game and the community and want it to be a safe space for everyone that plays the game. if you agree, you can respond with Me Too.

I am not a woman. So I guess that means I was not harassed nor I can be.

Idk, I'm a woman and I play this game since nearly 2 years, and I've never been harrased because of my sex.
Anyway, I don't think that official ESO forum is the right place to discuss women harassement.

The internet will never be a safe space as long as people can remain anonymous and never have to face serious consequences. Fortunately, they can't hurt you in real life should you decide to turn off the computer. Protect yourself and avoid revealing information about yourself that can lead to harassment, and also avoid situations and locations that will put you at high risk.

I see harassment of all kinds, not only towards women.

True, it doesn't. But some of the reactions in saying that, including yours, are overtly aggressive. You could have easily followed the advice in your signature and ignored the topic like I had been planning to do.

No and you know why? FB is already FLOOOOOOOODED with this. I am already over it there. Also? SOME PEOPLE (many, in fact) do not want to constantly relive assault/*** in their minds over and over because someone wants LIKES ffs.

Some people like to talk about it over and over.
Some people would not like to talk about it at all.

This forum is just plain not the place - and I never look fondly on attention *hooring*, which is what this sort of thing is more often than it isn't.

Also: Google aggressive. I don't think it means what you think it means.

Finally, isn't this kind of thing against TOS all together?

There's 2 types of foul mouthed people on the internet.

    1) the losers that wouldn't dare raise the tone of their voice to anybody inrl out of fear for their own well being.
2)The Losers That wouldn't dare raise the tone of their voice to anybody inrl out of fear for their own well being.

Nobody, man or woman should spend a second of their time feeling bad because of them.

    True, not cool.

My other thoughts: this movement should be aimed towards anyone sexually harassed. It might be more unusual for males to get sexually harassed, but it's as bad when it happens. And I'm glad to say, as a female, I haven't experienced this personally during my 3,5 years of ESO.

I've been harassed in MMOs before (cough WoW cough) for being female, but never here. ESO has a really good community comparatively, and I've never felt uncomfortable in-game.

Its a subject that often triggers me.

I'm against any kind of harrassment for any reason, to anyone, from anyone.

Just as I'm against any kind of descrimination to anyone, from anyone.

But organisations can go too far to try to 'help the oppressed minority', to make up for the actions of a few misogynistic, racist individuals.

I mean, my company has 'drives' and 'groups' for women (in a generally male industry). It also has them for various ethnic groups. Now these initiatives can offer fantastic benefits, like being able to take a month out from your normal job for classroom based training in the latest technologies.
Where as a white male, I need to do poor, outdated online training alongside my day-job, squeezing in an hour or 2 here and there.
I can't get a month away with top quality tutor-led training. Why? Because I'm a white male.

Like I said, I'm against discrimination in all forms.

I am male and I play 6 female characters (because it's a "used-to-Skyrim" thing, it's much more satisfying to beautify a female player character as a male one and in Skyrim it's due to mods like Race Menu much easier to change player characters as other NPCs in compare) and all I get are compliments in /w for my cute chars :-)

EDIT: I damned miss CBBE, Bodyslide and HDT in ESO...
