i seen plenty bots/afk farmers popping up in zones on PS4 EU server and i wager many are in US Server as well and i wager they plague the Xbox one and PC versions too which imo ruins the fun for legit playing players.

it would be nice to have a few GMs patroling about tho maybe not 24/7 but enough so it will scare of these kind of behaviours.

i read that you stopped afk dolmen farming which is nice so maybe a way to stop afk farming in general would be nice.

Half of us want GMs to come back so we can finally have a crack down on bot farmers and gold sellers.

But the other half dont want GMs because they think it'll create a Police State. (But thats just cause these people know they skirt the ToS every time they log in and would suddenly be at risk of a ban with GMs running around listening in to chat.)

I am beginning to think that the Dolmens were handled by someone on their free time as a one time thing.

I also noticed that when Rich Lambert made comments about bots, someone ran right out and dealt with them. Again, this seems like it was a one time thing.

If the GMs have (had?) proper tools they don't (wouldn't) need to be in-game. As with almost everything about ESO, we have no information to know which it is.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

i for one- would be happy to have a community of elected guildmasters and community leaders to check up on areas once in a while. i dont see why they havent got it. on korean mmos - they have 24/7 people walking around playing the game but also keeping an eye on things.
whats the point of having npc guards?!?! when nobody does anything. i got ripped off today by a dreugh wax guy, many of us ripped off by people COD not what they promised to sell- all types of stuff. be good if we had someone to walk up to so there could be immediate action. Even if nothing could be done- I guarantee -
    - the simple PRESENCE of an AUTHORITY WOULD DECREASE SHENANIGANS in all areas. its the broken window theory- and the fake security camera theory.
-it wouldnt cost them a single thing- in fact it would make them money - by making a happier community who would then attract more gamers.
    - it would be a good commmunity thing for the game- someone to moderate areas- and also if they abused their powers- be stripped of them.

    well past due date.

That's what I was thinking. Unless they're using extremely ancient technology they should be able to monitor this much more effectively by extracting data on player activity 'behind the scenes' - they could set up a system to extract and format relevant data automatically and could then review everything that's happened in a zone in the past day/few days/week in one go, instead of wandering aimlessly around hoping they happen to stumble across someone botting.

I've also heard that in some games GMs can be in-game but invisible - not stealth invisible, literally they have no character model, nothing you can target or click on - but they can see everything that's going on, read/hear zone chat etc.

It's possible GMs appearing in-game occasionally could act as a deterrent. Although if people are genuinely botting it's unlikely they would notice because the whole point of setting up a bot is that you don't need to be at the computer watching what's going on. But maybe it could put people off trying. Although banning the bots would achieve the same thing.

Someone mentioned a time where there was a GM who announced to the server that he was on the hunt for bots and for players to whisper the gm and the gm was tele to their location and ban all the bots.

If I were a gm, that would be hella fun banning those pesky bots. console ban them or something on that level where they cant just make new accounts or characters
