So the issue with Purge in PVE has been there for quite a while.
Stuff like players who just got a debuff get purged and other players who need a purge right NOW because the next dot tick will kill them should finally get fixed.
Something like get Purge more "intelligent" would be nice.

For the sake of stams not able to get access to purge for spamming (no magicka obviously) it'd be awesome to get it with Resolving Vigor. Maybe nerf the healing part of it by 10% but give it a one person purge per cast.

This would increase the survivability for not having a shield against dots. And also increase the duelling potential in PVP

    There's not a single strong DoT in the game that can kill you if you don't have purge (not talking about vTrials). Just slot Vigor and heal the DoT out. On the other hand, if you are talking about vTrials: the tanks should slot purge, not the DD's.

    well "Trials by fire" will definetly kill you even in normal, thats the execute skill form the new trial boss xD

    im mostly talking about vet trials, vHoF in particular
    The problem with other ppl purging is that its only checking for ppl who have dots, and not "who would die from next dot tick", thats the main problem. Even if i get the dot on myself and I use efficient purge 2 times and it doenst purge me thats just *** rng again-.-

    Venom Injection (1st boss HoF) Melting Point (4th boss HoF) and Trial by Fire (3rd boss AS). On normal, you might have a chance to heal through Venom Injection and Melting Point but I highly doubt that Vigor alone would be enough. There's no way you're healing through Trial by Fire even on normal though.

    Trials by fire? That was bugged, it did instant dmg sometimes rather than DoT, but it's fixed now hopefully.

    I know, but sometimes ppl get like 5 purges in a row and some get none, srsly thats just really bad

    a more reliable way for PVE Purge would be appreciated, maybe get trapping webs a rework or so.

    according to tooltip it pruges you and nearby allies from 2 dots, so if all 6 have a dot only 2 ppl get it removed, or am i wrong about that?

    Seems like you have no idea what you are talking about. Besides vTrials there's only one place where heal needs purge in PvE (Velidreth). So when you hear Purge + PvE you can realize the topic is about vTrials.

    That said, do you know what is the cost of Purge and how big is a magicka pool of tank? Do you really think it's enough to purge the team?

    It's really irrelevant if one part of the game has weaker dots if another part of the game has more serious dots. OP doesn't state the content other than PvE.

    OP is correct that how purge determines its targets is a poor design. There is PvE content that has dots that should be cleansed. Even the one who casts purge cannot be guaranteed they'll be cleansed after using purge several times in a row.

    Purge will cleanse someone who is already clean and ignore someone who needs it all with players within a few meters. That's a prime example of a poorly designed mechanic.

    I've tried spamming vigor through Venom Injection and Melting Point on NORMAL HoF. You will die, it might buy you a second but you will still die. It must be purged, or a dedicated healer must be spamming significant healing on you for a significant amount of time.

    Well, they could just add the same intelligent healing code to the purge and make it purge from whoever has lowest health first, so long as they have a negative effect.

    Purge: Fixed an issue where the buff applied by this ability and its morphs that reduced the duration of negative effects could stack.

    This seems like a significant nerf of purge...

    The problem with Purge is that it has a 6-person cap. And it purges only two effects. If your DPS in vHoF are getting stunned by the static cascades, that stun is a purgeable effect eating into the 2-effect cap and/or adding one more person competing for Purge's 6-person cap. And that cascade's lightning might apply Minor Vulnerability to them, which is yet another purgeable effect.

    Better positioning and awareness will reduce the number of extraneous effects that eat into the 6-person/2-effect caps and make it more likely that Purge actually does what you want it to do.

    Also, better Purge status awareness (purging right when the venom hits and not wasting resources to purge when it's not needed) can also go a long way on the first boss...

    thats kinda the issue, it opnly purges 2 debuffs but they are to random ppl :/


    i'd love to see like a trapping web rework for PVE, since its an underused skill.

    Maybe something like purging you, and 3 other allies near you from all dots appiled in dungeons or trials.

    Stammoprh:
    Cost 3000 Stamina.
    purging you, [and 3 other allies near you from all dots appiled in dungeons or trials and] granting minor heroism to nearby allies for 5 second.

    Magicka Morph:
    Cost 3000 Magicka
    purging you, [ and 3 other allies near you from all dots appiled in dungeons or trials and] healing nearby allies for 500 Health per Dot purged.

    This would bring this massivly underused skill back into the game, even if its only for Trial setups.
