Could you have a look at the templar healer build. There you say "Now on this build we are using 2x Magicka Recovery Glyphs and 1 Cost Reduction Glyph", but later there is no Cost Reduction Glyph applied on the gear.

Could you explain, why to use tri-stat glyphs? What is the stamina for? Where is the benefit compared to lets say 2x Magicka, 1xLife?

    Thanks

Thanks, fixed it. You can go 2x Mag 1x HP if oyu want to. Its just nice to have some extra stamina to break free and block: Especially for Halls of Fabrication.

@WhoSlappedThePie Ye CP should be fixed now, but you can allocate them however you feel fit.

Spriggan gives you about 3.5K penetration. That's a 6.9% damage since mob mitigation is calculated against a 50K threshold (3450/50000=6.9%). For running solo and not having access to major fracture or other significant sources of penetration it will do higher damage than VO, which is just 5% flat damage increase. I don't know the exact cutoff point between the two sets, but check @Asayre and @dpencil1 posts which are very thorough in this regard. https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/368454/spell-penetration-examined-a-pve-dps-perspective/p1 this one is for spell penetration but you can just set the cutoff 5K lower since you don't have concentration for stamina.

However VO will reduce skill cost by 8%, give you back 2.15K stamina and major expedition for each kill. And the latter carries over to the other bar, unlike Spriggan. So IMO VO is clearly better in every way. But you can combine them: Spriggan on the body, VO weapons and jewels. If you don't have Maelstrom bow you can run 1 VO/1 Spriggan 1H weapons, Spriggan bow and a monster set.

Cheers, I usually run VO and Hundings, but was more curious because Alcasts stam dps gear suggests Hunding's + Spriggan for group stuff and Hunding's + VO for vMA. Wondered why that may be.

Not all mobs in vMA have 18.2K resistance. Some of them only have 9.1K, like overland mobs, and penetration has diminishing returns as you are approaching full penetration (see the previous link). With one sharp weapon and 39 points in piercing you already have around 5K penetration, which is more than enough to have optimal DPS there. As for group content, from what I read he only suggests Spriggan as 2nd best set if you can't get your hands on TFS, which gives about 1.2K more. Spriggan armor is cheap on guild stores, and there is also a named precise dagger from a quest near the Craglorn gate in Bangkorai so obtaining this set is significantly easier for players who aren't into trials yet.

Most mobs in vMA have 12.1k resistance. So it makes more sense to spec for that. Then go for more raw damage. You can swap in a skill to apply Major Breach/Fractute on the few bosses that would be effected by it.

So which is higher DPS for dungeons (normal and vet), Spriggan or VO? Let's assume Hunding's Rage is non-negotiable.

So are we operating on the assumption that magplar is no longer a viable healer, or just that the build is unchanged since homestead?

More like Templar is still the only really competitive healer and hasn't changed much.^^

So which is higher DPS for dungeons (normal and vet), Spriggan or VO? Let's assume Hunding's Rage is non-negotiable.

There's no definitive answer for that. At first glance there is only a ~1.5% difference in favor of Spriggan's with a few CP in piercing and it decreases the more debuffs are applied on them (major fracture, crusher) so you won't feel much of a difference. And that's strictly when taking into consideration the minor slayer (3p VO) to the 3450 penetration (5p Spriggan). But Spriggan only has two maximum stamina bonuses and a weapon damage one, while VO has two weapon critical and a weapon damage one. The weapon critical bonuses become more valuable the higher your critical multiplier is (CP in precise strikes, horn, trap). With no points in precise strikes, trap or horn your critical hits will deal 1.5x tooltip damage so the increase from each weapon critical gear bonus is about 1.9% (833 is about 3.8%). With high multipliers (ex. high warhorn uptime) it's closer to 2.6% on average (could be 3% if you had 56 points in precise strikes, and 100% minor and major force uptime but the latter is difficult to get even in a perfectly coordinated group). For maximum stamina and weapon damage bonuses the calculation depends on your overall stats. Assuming about 36K stamina and 3.5K weapon damage fully buffed - typical values for a stamina DD - your weapon power becomes 3.5K + 36K/10.24 ~ 7K. This is the value on which all your skills scale to (10.24 is a constant). Fully buffed by major brutality the 129 weapon damage bonuses become 155 so on average each of them. At first glance that means about 2.2% of your damage. But your light and heavy attacks scale mostly off your weapon damage (the constant is about 40 in their case) so it's probably closer than 2.4% on average. Maximum stamina bonuses affect your DPS the least, because they have almost no influence on your light and heavy attacks. However they are boosted by racial (0-10%), undaunted mettle (2-6%) and warhorn (10% for 30s). So for a race with maximum stamina multiplier you can gain up to 26%. Then the 1096 bonus becomes 1380/10.24 = 135 weapon power, boosting your DPS by about 1.9% theoretically, more like 1.7% in practice.

The conclusion is that weapon damage and weapon critical bonuses are about as valuable, and the former becomes more valuable in a well coordinated group, while the latter is more important overall for certain classes, namely DK that also has access to minor brutality and weaves a lot of HA. Maximum stamina bonuses are the least valuable in terms of damage but help sustain because you can store more stamina, becoming less valuable for classes that weave HA/LA a lot, and also for races that don't have a multiplier to maximum stamina. So VO is better than Spriggan, and becomes better the better the group is.

I have a question about the Warden Magicka dps build you posted on your website. The Maelstrom arena build has "Bursting Vines" in the skill Bar 1. I never used that skill, so probably I am wrong, but according to the tooltip it's not a self-heal, but it works only on allies. So it would not make any sense in Maelstrom Arena where you are alone.
Could you explain me why you used Bursting Vines for this build? Is the tooltip wrong?
Or probably it's me that do not understand how to use it.

Quick question regarding your Magplar dps build, brought about by a discussion I had earlier today with a guild member. If someone doesn't have access to IA gear yet, what would you suggest they use instead? This one didn't have your usual gear tiering alternatives, and I was wondering if much had changed from the morrowind list.

I would go with Mothers Sorrow. So you can combine Julianos with Mothers Sorrow. Prolly the next best setup there is. DId that answer your question?

The build is fine, but for MSA you need to learn how to avoid/bolster damage. I have maelstrom section on youtube you can find runs there with mag sorc.

I uploaded the Tank Ultigen build that quite a few people requested. It is nothing new, has been around for quite a while.

I would recommend the same setup as with a dragonknight. so 5x Ebony Armor, 5x Alkosh or Plague Doctor combined with a Monster Set. I would prolly use Engine Guardian to help with sustain.

Just a quick one, I noticed the Summoner build for CWC uses a fire staff on the main bar instead of shock, why is that?

    Cheers

Shock or Fire Staff frontbar? As we are using Force Pulse and Crystal Fragments, you will get slightly more dps with a Fire Staff on the frontbar. However, if you do not use Force Pulse and Crystal Fragments a lot due to sustain issues, then it will be better to run a Shockstaff on the frontbar as well to just Heavy Attack for better sustain.

Added that to the gearsetup to explain it a bit more, in the end the difference is VERY SMALL, so if you would like to run a Shock staff then go for it.

Quick question about the traits, more specifically why Nirnhoned on back bar and main hand for stamina is better than Infused this patch? I suppose the difference is small. For example if I have a dagger to re-trait, including one from a set that doesn't drop in this trait, is it worth doing?

Hello Alcasth, where are the passive skill to this build (Stamina Sorcerer Build PvE “Windwalker” Clockwork City) i have see the skill but when I'm enter to Open in build planner » only show skill and no passive.
When we fight we have pity for our enemies! Since they are not our only enemies are brothers with different points of view. If you have to fight someone that someone must be the Aldmeri Dominion!

Hey @Alcast , I watched both your builds for Magicka Warden PvE “Ice & Fire” and Magicka Nightblade “Azure. In terms of play, fun, and dps, which would you recommend for me to level next? I’m stuck between the two and am mostly looking for a fun and fresh dps experience as best as I can get. Thanks for any advice!

Infused was so strong because the Maelstrom Enchantment got buffed by it even on the frontbar, which is not the case anymore, so nirnhoned will be more beneficial. Very small difference tho.

I would defo start with Nightblade, skills more more awesome, also has good healing while dealing damage.

Hello Alkast! Maybe you have thoughts on creating builds for asylum weapon, for example, as a second panel, use the bow for skill arrow spray to stamina builds?
