Well, I would think that after the Vestige defeats Molag Bal, the Planemeild ends, and the Imperials retake the Ruby Throne. Due to the sudden turn of events, the Three Banner War is called off, and the alliances retreat to their homelands. They eventually collapse, except for the Aldmeri Dominion, which signs the White Gold Concordant with the Empire after the war in the 4E.

Well, that was roughly 1k years of history shoved into a blender. I mean, the details aren't wrong, but man is the gestalt bjorked.

Incidentally, the Dominion does come apart at the seams. The Khajiit leave early. The Bosmer hang in for a couple centuries, then go their separate ways. That leaves the Dominion as just the High Elves again.

The Covenant and Pact both break down fairly quickly. One thing you're missing is that the Empire only really manages to pull itself back together under the leadership of Tiber Septum, who proceeds to reconquer most of Tamriel, and negotiates to bring the remaining provinces back under Imperial rule.

That's the transition from the second to the third era. Most of the single player games take place during the third era, while the Septim dynasty is on the throne. Specifically Uriel Septim VII.

At this point, the Dominion is basically just the formal name for the Altmer government, and nothing more. It's actually possible that it's never even referred to by that name in game (and the term itself comes from The Pocket Guide).

The end of the third era begins with the assassination of Uriel Septim, and his known heirs by The Mythic Dawn. This breaks the covenant with Akatosh that prevents daedric invasions, and leads to The Oblivion Crisis. The resulting chaos is also when the Thalmor move to consolidate control over the Dominion, setting the stage for the events of Skyrim 200 years later.

But, that's all the distant future, and no more relevant to ESO, than the Nerevarine returning and killing Almalexia (and possibly Vivec, depending on how homicidal you're feeling when you meet him).

After years of torment, slavery, and general discontent with the other races in Tamerial, the Argonian Race is united under one banner and takes the Ruby Throne. They immediately flood all or cyrodil surrounding the city for more swimming space...
