    I play every day too........

    I do stuff I enjoy.....

If BiS gear changes that is the nature of MMO's

Atm I choose not to engage in the constant gear grind, does it make me ineffective, for Vet Trials most definitely but for everything else NO, NO, NO!!

If you know your class then you can still play well wearing rags, well maybe not rags but the current "meta" is not necessary to do Vet 4 mans, or normal trials........

Step away from the grind and just enjoy the game!! :)

Okay, no kidding. I've had my main in gear I crafted back in January 2015 for the last couple weeks, because I was using her actual gear on a new alt.

Running around on a character in V14 gold gear, and content was still entirely playable. So... no, you don't need to constantly get on the treadmill. If you're doing vet trials that's one thing. If you're just derping around, it is not necessary.

More than that, keep an eye out for perennial gear. Stuff that may not be best in slot, but will hold it's value over time. Sets like Hunding's Rage, Seducer, Julianos, or even "crap" sets like Alessia. Stuff that will keep it's value, even if minor systems are tweaked.

Seriously, this sounds like most MMOs I've played. Including WoW. Gear & class being important in PvE/PvP, massive nerf/"rebalance" patches, grinding for better gear only to have a patch change which class/set/build is the "flavor of the month". Yeah, MMO. I'm not sure what else you were expecting.

They are acting like company. I don't see them doing anything else than acting like a company.
We don't pay to play, they dropped the mandatory sub in 2015.
If you can salt elsewhere, go do that then. You know you don't have to be here, right?

All i can say to the op is... **I** dont choose to grind grind grind and have a ton of fun playing this game. perhaps instead of hoping adding salt will make them change their recipe, one can look at the choices made and see if other choices are more suitable flavor-wise?

A while back i recall someone who posted angry at the grind who claimed to have played an entire morning to gather heartwood and found 2 pieces. yet they would not listen when i told them that in just an hour or so i have run a pledge and the undautned and mages guild pledge for the day and had gotten in terms of gold income enough to buy several times that amount of heartwood in the store - not to mention the fun of the play, drops and stuff i kept or deconned, experience, motif and pledge key.

Now, obviously if one's only desire/joy is a vma sharp inferno staff or other item similarly locked down under a tough rng, this would not apply but then its still one's own choices imposing that grind, not the game itself or the devs.

Gaming a thing we do to reach the impossible and to enjoy time , to break out of the daily struggle ... 3 years and still fail at this simple concept by making both PvE and PvP a matter off class and gear.. the game that i hoped to play turned out to be the game no one should ever pay a penny , a cent or a whatever for.
Lets hope Morrowind brings a nice change to this game and community... cuz at this point it's just grind..grind..grind.. In no other MMO ever that i pay 15€ a month for will i have to grind up gear every so often or get a complete change to the way i play , or get a punishment for top tier players (probably 10% at max) cuz they are to strong. The class/weapon/gear balance is a complete joke , the 6/7 days a week i can play is just to laugh at.

I disagree man. But it depends on what you enjoy I guess.

Aside from some vet trials, everything in the game is pretty easy so you don't need BIS.

All of my builds revolve around things I've picked up in dungeons and banked for months combined with a bunch of BOE bought in traders or crafted gear.

Only grind I've ever done that was a pain was getting a Lich resto for PVP.

If you've been playing 3 years, surely you have everything you need by now?

Hi there! So, aside from that one time I grinded for 5-piece spriggan's stuff, I've never really grinded for specific gear in this game, or indeed anything else. My builds typically use 3 x arcane willpower / robust agility jewelry, which I buy, a monster set that fits the build style (no BiS traits) and everything else is crafted. My DPS builds can perform well in nearly all content, barring vet trials, and they can more than hold their own in pvp.

If you're looking to run scoreboards in vMSA, or run vMoL HM (or not HM), then yes, you will need to farm for ultra-minmax gear. If not, then you simply do not need it. I get how making your favorite build more powerful is always a good thing, but don't subject yourself to hours of grinding for something you don't NEED. If, however, you are in a trials guild and need super-ultra minmax gear, well, you already have a guild of friends with whom you can grind, making the whole thing far more enjoyable.

So many people treat MMO's like second jobs, forcing themselves to do things because they feel like they have to. If something isn't fun to you, or doesn't have anything to do with your "end goal", then don't do it.

As for feeling burnt out, I get that sometimes, so I'll take a break from ESO and play something else for a while! It is amazing what 2 weeks away from the game can do for you.

I am thinking you are just in the wrong game.

I realized a long time ago no game can be all things to all people. The other thing is when I am tired of a game I only tell those I game with, not everyone because they are not that concerned if I play or not.

The gear was V14 when I crafted it. It shows up as CR140 now.
