✭✭✭✭✭Sorry, it's an old MMO joke. Soon(tm) means it's a special game dev definition of soon (hence the trademark) which is popularly described as "between now and the end of time" but basically means they're working on it but haven't given a definite release date yet.
(It's often attributed to Blizzard/WoW, but actually predates that game.)
We know the island is finished, so it could be released at any point. My guess is they'll want to space it out a bit from the release of Earthtear Cavern, and it won't come until after the winners of the Homestead contest are announced, because the Cavern is one of the prizes and it'd be a bit lame to go "You win the cool new house, oh, but here's a cooler, newer house to buy!" But I also think they'll want to release it well before Morrowind (which will likely include at least 1 new house). So "on the backburner" (as they describe spellcrafting) really means never, which Firor essentially admitted to last year, saying if it's ever implemented it probably won't be as originally advertised.0 -
