A thread about rotation

In this thread i would like to talk about rotation, just yesterday i learned that even my rotation on mag dk wasn't quite perfect, since i didn't have 100 % uptime on dots, and this got me thinking that i'm probably making some mistakes on the other classes as well, so if you know a good rotation that allows you to have 100 % uptime on dots, post it here, so everyone can benefit from it.

This is the mag dk rotation i learned just yesterday from a youtuber called Drugio, it's easy and leads to great results with 100 % uptime on dots, i just made a little adjustment that allows me to squish 1 additional whip.

First off eruption>Trap beast>flames of oblivion>bar swap>engulfing flames>blockade of fire>burning embers> 6 whips.
Re apply Engulfing>blockade>burning embers> 3 whips.
Bar swap and repeat.

For stamina i would prefer non Vma rotations since i don't have the daggers, but if you have a good rotation with those, feel free to post it.

    For templar i have this rotation:

    Vampire's bane>trap beast>Blazing Spear>Blockade of fire>bar swap>Purifing light>4 sweeps>bar swap
    Vampire's bane>Blazing spear>blockade of fire>barswap>Purifing light>1 sweep>barswap>trap beast>2/3 sweeps.

    Repeat

    I started playing magdk yesterday and found the same rotation... can say I'm pretty pleased with it. I found it on alcasts most recent mag dk build video. I can never get s'rendarr or bufftimers to work properly so it's nice to just watch the engulfing flames on FTC buffs and reapply when that runs out :D

    If you do this rotation perfectly you don't even need a buff tracker.

    well you dont even need a rotation on mag dk, just re-apply your buffs as they run out and know which buffs have the highest priority

    to add - fixed rotations generally only work in fights when you can just stand still and dps

    Yeah exactly, that's what I love most about it. I still keep my eye on engulfing though just to make sure

    Well, rotations are never going to be exactly perfect. No targets (aside from the dummies) are just going to stand there still and let you dps them down. In reality, you have to deal with broken rotations or having to reset because of disruption from the targets, whether getting inflicted with some stupid crippling move or curse that makes you run off or other adds/mobs coming at you, or even you getting disrupted yourself. Well..ok, if you're in a group and the tank managed to pull all the adds/mob and bosses while nothing is focused on you.

    As 60 years old Player, the Rotation for my fully buffed Stamina-Sorcerer is "focused Aim, focused Aim , focused Aim, poison Injection" :D

    Trap beast looks interesting for the 12% crit damage increase. however it last 60 seconds so you don't have to reapply often unless boss moves. Effect increase with high crit chance and the cp for more crit damage.

    One issue I have with templar rotation is that just spamming dark flare seems to have the same dps.
    Think I should try morphs with longer duration.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    That's not true. The buff when the rearming trap triggers last 8 seconds.

    You are right, I read it wrong, 1.5 s arming then 6s effect.

    If I recall correctly, Alcast stated in one of his videos that he achieved same results, with Rearming Trap or without it.

    IMO there is something about it. Magdk typically front bar Blockade to reduce number of bar swaps in rotation to increase dps. But you cant front bar Rearming, and dropping it completely again reduce the number of bar swaps.

    I don't really use rotations, since i am on pc i have srendarr addon, it is really amazing, saves time with rotation learning BS.

    How is it specific to Dk when i just said a thread about rotation? This is as general as it gets, also you didn't read that i also posted a templar rotation.
