After a (irrational) outcry from the upcoming CP adjustments from much of the forum community, I keep seeing "most of us don't PvP... etc. etc."
Why?
Everyone that I've introduced into PvP that was very against it, turned out to not being against it at all. By introduced I mean I helped them to know what to expect and how to respond and what skills are needed to help emerge victorious.
Secondly, I have always been a adamant PvPer, but still enjoy "endgame" type pve. I spend 95% of my time PvPing, yet receive compliments in pve often, and I attribute that to the skills I've used and learned in PvP. Without PvP I don't believe I would be as good as I am in PvE.
Anyway, that's just my take on things. I'm just curious; why don't you PvP?

Or groups where a healer decided to just stop healing because he/she didn't feel the rest of the group was up to their level. (Not leaving the group mind you, but letting them die repeatedly, then insulting everyone, then leaving.)
You don't like PvP, cool, but don't try and insult an entire group of people to justify it. There are *** on both sides of the divide.
I'm sure the bad people you speak of were PvP players trying to PvE and getting upset. Real PvE players don't make those types of comments.
The problem of this style of pvp with multiple campaigns, resulted in several faction "buff" servers and only 1 completive one. When an emp hold his crown for 60 days that's a buff server.Catches_the_Sun wrote: »ESO had some PvP philosophies they took from DaoC, but practically all of those have been changed or adjusted. Seconding this with the power of thousand suns.Because I don't like playing against other players, I've never been a 'competitive' person and don't need to feel better than someone else. I do not like 'fast-paced' combat, I don't like whining and complaining, I don't like tea-baggers and their arrogance, I don't like unpredictability. I also don't like games/content that induces any type of stress.
I only solo PvE and I like the pacing, I like the structure, I like knowing pretty much what to expect from every scenario. I like knowing that even should I die, the enemy won't taunt and act like an a**... and if I beat them, they won't linger on with a grudge or try to report me for 'cheating' simply because they lost.
So yes, I prefer a game that's EASY, that isn't stressful, and that's pretty predictable and routine. Some may find that boring, but it's what I enjoy... I am very much a creature of habit and am loathe to do anything spontaneous.
PvP tends to bring out worst in people. In PvE there are only "we". In PvP there are "we" and "them". And when there are "we" and "them", things go south very quickly.

Don't forget the constant infighting within your own faction. If people aren't actually participating in the Campaign, they're neck deep in Zone Chat trying to "Expose" you, accusing something or someone of being Cancer, or generally saying impolite things about your Mother or Sister.
Competitive Multiplayer is a cesspool of degenerate, incomprehensibly rude, heartless, evil people. Like Dantaria said, it brings out the absolute worst. I only head into Cyrodiil when I'm on my Gank capable StamBlade and I've also prepared myself mentally for an hour or two of stressful torture, because I know that with my kind of playstyle, if I don't win the fight within the first few seconds, I'm not going to win, period, and being a receiver of constant curb stomping gets old, VERY quickly.
If I'm going to not succeed at something in-game, I want it to be because I failed a fight with the A.I., not because another player used their l337 skillz and proc sets to one shot me and then tea bag me.

Hyperbole much?

It was pvpers that complained about the way it was working, pvers just had to select a campaign and reap the rewards from the buffs.
PVPers were homing a buff server and playing in their guest.
I would prefer pvp to be 1 campaign, then they could consider using that style again. People that wanted the buff would be forced into pvp to get it. But, ZOS servers today are unable to handle even moderate loads. A one campaign system would be just too much.

Did it make the point or not?
If it did, then hyperbole success!

Wow, you're like the poster-boy for the exact kind of person that I am talking about. You have actually been to Cyrodiil, but absolutely refused to fight when confronted by an enemy? You can't even begin to tell me that there isn't something seriously wrong there. And your whole attitude is defeatist. Not everyone that goes to Cyrodiil is some kind of uber-elite min-maxer. People of all skill levels go there to have fun. Do you even know that the best campaign is "Azura's Star" and does not even use Champion Points? However my personal experience every time I've been in Cyrodiil to do other things has been negative. I know I won't have a chance against the maxed cp9billion pvper(s). I go into Cyrodiil knowing I'll get killed. I have no wish to try to "git gud".
I have an interest in this game. I PvP only occasionally. I don't much care for housing, but I will decorate a house eventually. But you don't see me freaking out saying "I DON'T WANT TO DECORATE EVER".Perhaps your interest in pvp shows a tendency to overcompensate for something?
What is a real PvE player?
